This DisplayPort hub arrived promptly, and was easy to set up - plug it in and it worked well, right out of the box.Unfortunately, the device became unreliable after about twelve weeks of use, I suspect a thermal issue. It died completely a few days later. After a couple of email exchanges with StarTech Technical Support so they could diagnose the problem, they replaced the item free of charge. The replacement arrived a couple of days later.

This device does, in fact, let one display port become 3. Its not just a splitter either, each port can display something different. Its very impressive. Sadly not very helpful for me, since NVIDIA cards only support 4 monitors regardless of how many ports you have, but that's not really this thing's fault.

A great way to split your signal for extended displays. This does not require an external power source like some splitters do, so no extra wires or outlets required. Plug in the splitter and then plug in your monitors - easy setup.

I bought 2 of these and BOTH flicker constantly when plugged into my cpu. I don't have any problem when I have the monitors/TV's plugged in without the splitter, but, when plugged in every 5-10 seconds the screen that's using the splitter will shut off and come back on within a few seconds.

I have tried a few different MST hubs and KVM switches to see what would work out for me. Unfortunately several have failed, but this specific MST hub works well for me.To give a quick overview I have a custom built computer with a Nvidia video card. For work I have a Dell laptop with USB-C power delivery. I also have an older macbook from 2012, but plan on getting a newer macbook that will have thunderbolt. I can't confirm whether my current setup with this MST hub will work, but I hope it does. Once I get a chance to test it out I can update this review. For now I have 2 Acer flatscreen 24" monitors. The monitors have an HDMI and VGA output. Since this MST hub uses Displayport, I purchased 2 cables that go from HDMI to Displayport. Here are the cables I use:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KP4Y6SZNow this MST hub has a micro usb to USB cable, however it's a little short for my needs, so I bought this cable to work for my configuration:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002I041AKNext, if anyone is interested in a working KVM switch that has USB-C input for computer and a Displayport output that works with this MST Hub, I have this device and it works great!https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4B2Y3GZI have a keyboard and mouse that plug into 2 USB ports. I also have a USB-C cable that goes from the KVM to my laptop. For my desktop, I can't confirm it will work, but I'm hopeful it will. I just need to get a displayport to USB cable. I just purchased this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NJYCV8Y and will test it out when I get it.Anyway I hope people find this useful because I had to jump through several hoops to see what works with different MST hubs and different KVM's. I can confirm that this works well. I also really like the KVM I posted above because it has 2 forms of power delivery. You have 100 watt and 65 watt.

I've been using this MST hub as a permanent fixture in my PC with a 7900xtx, it's mostly done me good but have been noticing flickering, disconnects and random issues pop up inexplicably over the last few months. The only thing that seems to resolve it is unplugging the USB-C cable and reconnecting it, despite that it does do what it does on the tin. Keep in mind that 3x 4k monitor support is a bit misleading as it's largely dependent on the bandwidth limit of DP 1.4 (32.4Gb/s) and higher refresh rate monitors will saturate that bandwidth even quicker. For example a 4K monitor (3840 × 2160 @ 60hz) will use 14.26 Gbit/s which saturates nearly half of the available bandwidth. So make sure to do the calculations if you're planning to use for your setup. And my last complaint :) The display port cable on the hub is super short! I could barely fit it inside of my computer (I'm using a vertical bracket, which means my GPU ports are inside of the case)

I bought this to upgrade from a 1.2 DisplayPort MST splitter only to be left sad and disappointed. I think the product works fine but my monitors are actually only on 1.2 DP, not 1.4. DP 1.4 is typically for higher resolution monitors like 4k or more. Be sure to read in your manual first before buying. Next time, I will be purchasing the correct DP version to have as backup.

Used on dual 4k, with no issues.USB-Micro B powered via USB-A lead.If using StarTech USB-C to DP 8k adaptor, recommend purchasing USB-C male to USB-A female adaptor. Basically a short USB-C OTG adaptor as frees up other USB-A ports on computer.

Decisamente da acquistare se volete un hub per aumentare le uscite video della vga. Nessun problema con un triple screen in 1080p a 144hz verificati. Costa caro ma soldi ben spesi!
