I am a low end streamer, my last mic I had was a blue yeti and although that is a good microphone it is not ideal for streaming.But I had recently upgraded my headset last year to a steal series microphone and I was surprised and delighted by the quality of not only the headset but the actual headset microphone.And when I received this microphone I wasnt shocked by how good the quality was, how well it worked with other streaming programs and more.If you are a low to mid teir streamer like myself this will be the best budget microphone for you.

The audio quality of this microphone is an amazing value. I was concerned at first because of the price I originally was going to go for a cheaper option, but now that I have it I'm super happy I went this way. All of my friends were shocked at how amazing I sounded.You just take it right out of the box and plug it in with the included type c cable and you're good to go, super simple setup.I absolutely love the LED choices with the mute button and tasteful rgb on the bottom which gives it a professional look without compromising style.The on device gain controls are also nice and the associated software is nice as well for adjusting noise gate sensitivity and such.

Such a solid setup, the hardware all the way around is fantastic. The only thing that will take some getting used to is the software depending on how in depth you want to get. Just using it for Discord, OBS and in game playing it's flawless without any software tuning.It's a good kit if you are in the Steelseries ecosystem, everything works great together.

Sound quality is amazing, the mute button is super handy, the stand is great and looks good and it’s easy to mount on a mic arm. Only downside is it needs a ton of fiddling to get the volume right but you aren’t provided with many ways to do it easily. The gain knobs on it feel honestly useless, and on discord I keep getting told I’m too quiet when sometimes you can hear the tv downstairs from it. I love the steel series software for everything else but it doesn’t feel great customizing this mic.

To start off, this isn’t a plug and play microphone. You’ll need to play around with the audio configuration a little bit to get the results that you want, and to do that you’ll need to download the dedicated software for it. But once you get it all set up and working, it works amazingly. I’ve never heard my voice as crystal clear in any other microphone, and the easy access microphone controls make it better. I’ll have to admit, I had fun pushing the mic mute button a couple of times just to feel the button and see the light turn on. As for physical installation, it’s really easy to do as long as you follow the instructions. It did take me a little bit personally because my desk is currently a cable nightmare but the cable length should be more than enough for most users. Also, the RGB on the control panel is a pretty neat addition, especially if you have other SteelSeries RGB enabled devices. If you want a top tier microphone and don’t mind paying a bit of a premium, this is the microphone for you. My only gripe (and this is a general SteelSeries problem, not exclusive to the mic) is that you can’t disable the RGB engine without uninstalling the entire software suite if you want to use another RGB control program (like SignalRGB).

If you want a great sounding, and good software microphone, go with this. This mic is stellar because of everything going for it. The most important being software. Most gaming peripheral companies have overlooked the software part for years. And Steelseries has done really well with their GG software. It's easy to get results, and has seamless integration. But the microphone just sounds great without any changes. I've found myself to use the presets the app offers. The quality of build is awesome. I love seeing the LEDs light up to sound. So I don't have to test if it's working or not. And the stand and shock mount feel very sturdy. But the main problem is the price. At $239.99 CDN, I just cannot recommend it to anyone with how many other options there are.
