Worked great in my 2013 ram 1500 firewall. Clamped down on my cable really nice and tight. No reason to make it out of metal, and pay 5 times as much. This product works as advertised, and is cheep.

Does what it's suppoed to do, be sure you have an area in the firewall that's easily accessible though as drilling a 3/4" hole requires some effort with a unibit and a drill. I have it installed on a 2002 Nissan Frontier. Although it's plastic, it feels like you get a durable part with a tight grip around the 4 gauge power cable. There is a rubber grommet that fits inside the flange so make sure that is centered correctly before tightening it down for the correct watertight fit.

I think this is a pretty basic grommet that you can find at the hardware store. You can probably find these wholesale. But this one might have better quality plastic overall to stand against the heat of the engine bay and might last longer than other grommets you can buy for wholesale or at the hardware store. If you plan on buying this grommet, go for it.But if you think about replacing cheaper wholesale grommets, that's a good option too since you can replace it after heat wear and tear. I might update this review a few months later to see if there has been any degrading of the plastic.

Must have for cleanly routing large gauge wire through a firewall. Make sure to have the length pulled through on both sides of the grommet before tightening the nut because it seals and clamps down extremely snug. Excellent product, I wish I knew about these years ago.

Forget trying to fish the wire through an existing grommet, with this little guy all you have to do is find a spot, drill and install. Seals nice, provided you get the right size for the wire being run. Definitely a must have to perfect a smooth and water tight install.

I'm very happy with my purchase, installed it yesterday and was a perfect fit. Bushing is of high quality and very well made. Now, I don't have to worry about amp power wire shorting out.

Make sure you don't lose the internal rubber tube that locks the 4 gauge wire in place. Its critical to lock the 4 gauge wire in place so it won't slip in our out after the internal cap is screwed on tight. Look at the pictures. If you are working alone, I highly recommend using blue sticky putty to hold grommet in place from the inside. This way, it won't fall out when you try to screw the grey ring on from the outside of the firewall. The blue tack also creates a better seal against the outside elements.I also super glued the outside grey ring on the grommet threads. This way it won't back out when you are unscrewing the internal cap from the other side of the firewall.Hope you guys find the pictures helpful!

Running a 4 gauge cable through The firewall of my car. I used this to pass the wire through and still keep air and liquids out. It was the correct size I wanted and tightened up firmly and should last a long time.
