My grandmother had a water barometer (the swan type) above the kitchen sink when I was a kid growing up on the coast. We relied on it to easily know when storms were coming — very helpful.Really loving this one. Works great! I don't check the weather app nearly as much because a quick glance at this barometer tells me when weather changes will occur soon.Low pressure fronts come before storms. So this barometer will give you a few hours warning and also tell you how bad the storm will be (high water level = big storm on the way).I like that it graphically displays barometric pressure. Getting numbers isn't nearly as useful as seeing the water expand and rise because the atmospheric pressure is low.It was a bit of a hassle to fill. Needed to to put in a syringe full of water and then tip the barometer over (with finger over the hole) to get the water into the bulb. Have to repeat a bunch of times to get the bulb filled 40-50% with water.Mine came with only yellow dye. Wanted it red like my grandmother's swan barometer, so I just used some food coloring.

I love that I can have this out on the shelf and it doesn't look tacky but I can see what the pressure is so I can help my son who has pressure in his brain. It's good quality and super easy to use.

The picture shows country outlines but the globe is actually clear. I got 2 colors instead of three but I have plenty of my own so no biggie. Overall I am glad I bought it. I'm getting ready to fill it (once I decide on a color) and I'm curious to see if it works. It's only decorative for me so works or not doesn't matter.

Comes with 3 generous packets of color. Takes very little color powder, so you will have plenty for repeat refills if you want to change the water color. Injector filler is easy to use. Directions in Chinese & English. Very happy with purchase.

The liquid will rise on low pressure days and doesn't drop unless I tilt it and lower the liquid myself. Cool to look at but that's all.

I wanted to have a not costly artistic way to see if it "is likely to rain". This kit had more than I needed - since it includes different colored powders to color the water. I placed it on a floating shelf - near my air conditioner control and a column of glass with the floating balloons of glass and colored water with temperature tags on them. It is great fun to me - one looks sort of feminine and one a bit masculine (artistically and subtly) - and also - I can double check the weather report and the air conditioning controls - without the "high tech modern class" of weather instrument (which I also have in another place in my home).

I have two of these and the larger of the two works better than the smaller one. The small seems to be less effective with pressure changes.
