The Strong Strap works well and this has kept the raccoons out of our trash cans. The strap and the fasteners are very durable and will last forever. You do not need tools to attach and the fasteners are very strong. This was our second set because the inside fastener on the set we bought a few years ago was too big to attach where I placed the outside mount. As a result, I was able to secure it to the trash can. It eventually fell off and was lost. The newly purchased set has a smaller inside fastener that works very well with my can.

Quality materials, great design, clear instructions and it works! What more can I ask for? The parts fit together well and install in minutes, with tremendous sturdiness. My only caveat is to carefully position the latch pod so that you don’t have to pull too hard to get the strap in and out. A light fit was fine to deter our raccoons (and make it easy for humans to put on and take off). Night one- the liner bag was shredded around the edges and the can was tipped over but the lid remained on! You could see the frustration of the raccoon! By day 3- the can was moved slightly, but they’ve given up tipping it over even. I’m sure they’ll be my neighbors problem (and leave us alone) by next week! And I will tell my neighbors about this strap- it’s great! p.s. the last 2 shots were added after a week and you can see the raccoons’ frustration as they turn over the can and STILL can’t get to the food. The second can (without the strap) is unused but even THAT ONE was knocked down. One frustrated raccoon… one happy strap kit owner!!

After several days of my neighbors dog knocking over my trash and making a huge mess, my problem is solved! I did a quick search and found this as a solution and Amazon brought it to my door the next day.Installation was simple, quick and easy! This is a well engineered and quality product. The first time I heard my trash can fall over I was thrilled that I could have a chuckle. There were some muddy paw prints on the strap but they were outsmarted and gave up.I now have confidence that animals and wind are no longer a worry of mine. I would definitely recommend and I would purchase again. Great buy!!

This takes some muscle to get on and off once installed. A bear still got into the garbage and I made it even tighter after that. It's difficult to get on and off and out tenants don't always use it for this reason. It still gives me a bit of security though as the bears can't get everything out.

The Strong Strap is exactly as described. Easy to install and use. The raccoons won’t be visiting my trash can any more. Grateful for such a great product.Update: The raccoon was no match against The Strong Strap last night. I had cleaned my trash container with soapy ammonia after our trash pickup. It was very clean. This morning I found the container knocked over and covered with muddy paw prints ðŸ¾, plants were knocked from my porch railing, but The Strong Strap was the winner!! Worth every cent+

We have a lot of trees and green space around our house, which means a lot of wildlife. The raccoons are ridiculous, always screaming at each other and getting into our trash bin and making a mess. But, the mess has stopped since I installed this on our bin. It was easy to install, but definitely check both the interior and exterior before piercing the bin. I got a little too close to a molded outcropping in one spot so it was difficult to tighten the screw all the way. We all have to use two hands to disengage and re-engage the strap, but it’s not a problem. On trash night we leave it unlatched and the trash pandas can’t get in because there’s no way for them to climb up the bin at the curb. Ours depend on another surface to stand on so they can get on top of the bin. The strap hasn’t caused any issues with the trash truck or been damaged, although I might unwrap it from the handle, just in case.Be careful opening the package - one of the covers on the sharp screws had fallen off in transit and the screw almost stabbed me.The YouTube installation video is much easier to understand than the instructions in the box.

I live out in the country so we have problems with dogs and raccoons getting in the trash. This works great for that, but with the single strap, a bear is just going to laugh at it. At the same time, it's easy to open and close the trash can, so it makes it more likely to be used. The screw caps on the inside both serves to stabilize the outside mounts, and keeps the screw points from tearing up the trash bags. The two plastic parts that screw into the trash can, unfortunately only attach by one screw, so I'm not sure how long it's going to last. I wish there was a spot to drop in two more screws in each once the back plates are screwed on.

Finally! I’ve found some thing that keeps the raccoons out of my trash. The raccoons here are so bad and vicious with your trash, they pulled it apart looking for the good stuff and throw everything everywhere. There’s not a brick heavy enough, there’s not a bungee cord strong enough, or it could be they just are so smart they know how to work a bungee cord. But this thing is amazing I have woke up to no less everyday since the install. My neighbors and I share a trash bin corral and she’s even noticed that we no longer have to pick up trash. So she asked me where did I get it what is it called and asked me to send her the link because she’s going to order one too. This thing is so great that it keeps the lid so tight even the flies can’t get in so our fly and maggot problem no longer exist. I couldn’t be more happy with this product.Sidenote however, the more you pull and stretch it to open and closed it, the less durable it feels so eventually it’ll have to be replaced but the price is OK so I won’t mind doing that because it works so well.
