I bought this call a couple weeks before the MN turkey season. I chose this call because I was looking into slate calls due to the variety of sounds you can produce with one and because this one was nice and cheap. First day using the call in the woods I called in a nice Tom which came running in to my decoys. My only problem with the call is that after a lack of use for a while, it is difficult to generate the sounds you want it to. I'm not sure if this is due to the slate or the scratch being touched by oils from skin or clothing but you need to keep scratching for a while until it makes realistic turkey sounds again. Overall great call though

I bought this because the stone on my old Primos slick stick wore down after several years then buying a new slick stick only to have the stone fall off opening the package and taking it back to the store. Many reviews are complaining about the same problem with the primos slick sticks. This one is pretty small and works perfectly to connect with my old slick stick a rubber band (I actually use a hair tie) to have all my conditioning stuff together and handy.

It was really easy to use after I gave it a good scrape. The sound and range it great, calling very loud all the way down to soft purring.

The pot works very well. It's nothing fancy but sounds great. The striker is terrible. Extremely difficult to get sound from. Used different strikers and got great sound. Pot = good, striker = bad

This is how it came in the mail. First off normally I don’t write reviews but if I buy a product I expect it to atleast come with everything it’s supposed to. I did not receive my striker in this package like I was supposed to. Also the slate call is way to lose in the packaging (way to small, not sure if that’s meant on purpose) personally I don’t recommend it after paying for this and not receiving one of the 2 things in it. Very very unhappy.

Works and sounds great. Had a bit of a time figuring out it needed to be scratched up before use. Could use that info in the package.
