I used this with a air cylinder for a bandsaw cutting speed dampener. It worked as I imagined. free flow 1 direction and controllable in the other direction.

this flow control valve would not work for me . when pressure was applied it would release the pressure even the pressure control knob would not work. the flow control valve was no good.
