Perfect for what I need. The thermometer is a few degrees off, but for the price it's fine. If this company decided to make this models frame out of load bearing materials I'd gladly pay double or more for this. Very handy for me and my lifestyle. :)

I couldn't rate accuracy and easy-to-read above, because it depends on which functionality you're talking about. The compass is easy to read and accurate. But the thermometer is so tiny I struggle to read it. I generally don't carry a magnifying glass when hiking! The thermometer also reads at least 4° too warm, so I'll have to mentally subtract degrees whenever I look at it.

Compass seems to work okay, although it's not immediately clear how to read it, which requires you to ignore the larger, external letters and focus on the smaller internal ones.The thermometer is wildly inaccurate. It is currently reporting a temperature of approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit in my 70 degree apartment on a 66 degree day.I purchased to replace a carabiner I use to hold my keys; the one I have is climbing-grade and works very well, hooking into one of my belt loops easily. This construct, on the other hand, mounts the ball compass on the same side that the latch opens, meaning you can't actually fit anything more than a few millimeters wide into the opening. As such, I cannot get it onto my belt loop.I had a pretty low expectations, and yet I am still thoroughly disappointed.

I've had this product for several years and it has been a solid, functional product. The compass and thermometer are accurate and the build quality is good.Unfortunately after 3 years the glue holding the compass let go and I've now lost the compass. I'm not terribly disappointed after this long but this is something to watch out for.

Just what I wanted. The thermometer and the compass work well. For the people saying the compass is backwards, it’s not. There are two sets of markings and they’re meant to be read at different angles. There are very clear instructions on the back of the packaging.

I use it attached to a Kayak. It works really well.Some things to note about magnetic compasses like this. It’s designed to be viewed from behind or on top of. There is a picture in a review with it pointed in the right direction, but the guy didn’t know how to view it.You also have to be careful when you use a compass in a car or on a keyring. In a car you have to figure out where the car won’t interfere with it. If you use it on a keyring, you have to take it off the keyring if you have steel or magnets on the keyring, or use keys and rings made out of aluminum, titanium, or plastic. That won’t interfere with it. I have sadly made all these mistakes in the past with various compasses.

Thinking a cool little thing to clip on a pack pack- not so much, not at all. First the temperature gage is so small to see but when I examined it with a flash light and magnifying glass it was wrong by over ten degrees. Second, the compass will not give the same reading in over fifteen attempts (and the blind squirrel never found the acorn). Finally, the thing is so cheaply made that even if it worked it would fall apart before anything hit the fan. They got me. Update: the seller refunded the cost. I added an extra star for the seller trying to make it right.

Clips onto my manbag so I never get lost. I also took it on a cruise ship when we went to Norway, and it proved it's worth! The captain made an announcement one day, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are having issues with the ship's navigation system, the magnetic compass is not functioning. Does anyone by chance own a compass they could bring to the bridge so we can navigate safely?" Obviously, I took this compass to the captain, and he was very grateful. I'm sure I saved hundreds of lives that day.NB: one of the above facts is true.

I bought this product for check temperature during my hikings. It's accurate, but quite small, hard to see the scale. All over it's a good product especially if someone use the compass as well.
