Had my doubts at first , but the thing actually works very well . My only real complaint , is that its very flimsy . They should have at least made it out of aluminium , or at the very least , heavier grade plastic . Unfortunately , I think this is going to break on a lot of people . For something meant to be used outdoors , it needs to be more sturdy . Almost gave 3 stars for construction , but it does work , only reason 4 stars .

While it will start a fire, it is so thin that it will get crumpled as soon as you put it in a back pack or pocket. It would be great if they used material thicker than aluminum foil.

Received this as a gift. The device is handheld. The difficulty lies in trying to find the right angle to focus the sun and then hold it steady. I accidentally melted the plastic fuel grips. It needs to be metal to avoid this problem. DOES NOT work in low light. Need clear skies and direct sun.

And by fragile I mean it's really flimsy and definitely can't be kept in your pocket without some kind of hard protective case. It serves it's purpose though and lights cigarettes fast and easy. It is priced a bit too high for what it is and I would rather recommend buying the round solar cigarette lighter that sells for around $6. Those are slightly easier to use and more appropriately priced. I would suggest to the seller that they provide a small hard case with this product and that would totally justify the cost.

Bonjour test effectué avec de la paille sèche et de l'herbe sèche . J'ai d'abord dirigé l appareil droit vers le soleil , une lumière très blanche et concentré viens noircir le bout de paille et un dégagement de fumée au bout d'environ dix seconde . puis par mégarde j'ai décalé de cinq a dix degrés par rapport au soleil et là la lumière a été multiplié par dix le feu est apparu au bout de trois à quatre secondes avec le même bout de paille a un endroit différent . Pensez à effrité un peu la paille. Test réaliser dans le département du Nord en France a 18h00 le 14 mai ciel nuageux avec de belles éclaircies.
