My Kitty Leo had an Abscess break open on his neck just under his ear. Our Vet Drained / Cleaned the area and did a Wound Care treatment, but didn't want to do surgery to close it up. He wanted it to heal on its own, Leaving the wound open. So I HAD to get an E-Collar, but knew my cat wouldn't go for the traditional plastic cones and the lining of the plastic would be too close and rub on the wound anyhow.Due to age and his usually pretty activity level I wanted to try a soft one. He LOVES it.. (As much as a stubborn cat would like an E-Collar anyway). He can easily Eat, Drink, Use the Litter Box and Even sleep with it on with no trouble. (Took him a short time to get used to it and adjust) It is very easy to put on and remove. The soft fabric material on one side and water resistant fabric on the other side make it really easy to wipe clean and keep him comfortable when resting. When he lays down it does rub the area a bit (That's because of the wound being so close to his collar line., But it doesn't irritate him or the would at all. I do notice he seems to like it better when it is turned down over his shoulders rather than up around his face in the cone shape. I like that this is an option, but Either direction I put the collar He can't get his hind leg up to scratch the wound area. PUURRFECT!! I measured his neck with seamstress tape before ordering/before the Vet Appt, and he was at 9-10 inches around his neck (Keeping one finger between his neck and the tape so there is a little wiggle room), This one says 9-11 inches and it's perfect. There is a large enough strip of the velcro (About an inch wide) that you have room to tighten or loosen as necessary. I keep it a little loose around his neck and he does fine. Thank You... I would order another (If I ever Have to, Hopefully the Dog won't need one anytime soon!!)Very Happy with this Product. Next Day Shipping was a Must. Thanks Again. Happy Cat & Dog Mom Here!!

Pros: It is cute, soft, flexible, washable, and adjustable because of the velcro, you can make it fit a little looser or tighter depending on the size of the pet. They can walk around and climb stairs with it on flipped backwards like in the picture. It is easy and quick to get it on and off.Cons: it can get wet or dirty if it gets in the water dish or food dish. If your pet is really determined, it can open the velcro. So it depends on how determined and strong your pet is. Our kitty in the picture kept it on and got used to it. He could reach his tail, back legs and lower tummy with it flipped backwards. If you have it attached a little looser, you want to make sure the rough part of the velcro faces away from them so it doesn’t scratch them. We definitely got our monies worth out of it.

I bought this when our cat had surgery to remove a blocked saliva gland. So, the incision site was on the side of his face. We have mostly used plastic cones after surgeries before, but we bought this, because we knew for various reasons that our cat would need to wear it for longer than we typically have to use a cone. The pros: This was much nicer than a typical, plastic cone in that he seemed more comfortable when sleeping, did not seem challenged to see or eat, and could navigate obstacles very easily. Additionally, the cloth part that was nearer to his face didn't build up humidity like a plastic cone does, and we feel like this kept the incision site drier and more sanitary. The back of the cone is a nylon-like material and easy to clean. The cons: He could get this cone flipped back so that the larger opening was around his body, not his head. Someone has posted a picture showing this, too. In our case, this configuration enabled him to scratch his incision site. It was not often that he got it pointed in the wrong direction; maybe one time every three days. However, we did have to watch him to make sure it was on properly. Additionally, the inside of the cone is cloth, so it was harder to clean. My husband wiped it down with sanitary wipes from time to time, and this kept it clean. However, I guess we could not have used this cone if he had had a particularly leaky incision site.Neutral: This cone is adjustable in that it has long Velcro strips that you use to fasten it together. If you aligned the strips perfectly, it would be way too large of an opening for most cats. However, the length of the strips allows for quite a bit of adjustment.Overall, I recommend this cone as an alternative to the plastic ones. However, it would not work for a situation where the flipping backwards situation would cause a problem for the pet or owner.

Our kitty got sick and needs to wear a cone for at least a week or two, to prevent her from licking around her hind quarters. She couldn't handle the vet-prescribed cone that was so big and so deep she couldn't walk, eat, drink, or sleep.Online searching revealed these soft cones exist, and this was PURRFECT for my little furbles.- cone is shallower in shape which can allow kitty to eat and drink from her raised bowls. It also allows her to easily go up and down the staircase, jump to her bed and to chairs, and use her litter box without stress and difficulty.- velcro ties are SO much better than the horrible medical tape/ strings on the hard cone, and is less stressful for everyone involved to get it on and off. No panicked, crying kitty as her ears and whiskers don't need to be amused through a hard cone.- cone circumference is wider than the narrow cone the vet gave us, so her whiskers aren't constantly crushed and bent. I believe this shape is much less disorienting and stressful, while still preventing her from licking her rump.- soft fabric is bendable for movement and sleeping - sometimes it inverts onto her shoulders all the way or partially (still does it job). This happens when she's up and down the stairs or eating sometimes, which is good because it's moving enough to allow her to function. It also folds around her so she can lie her head down to sleep, which the vet cone was actually preventing her from doing ( and why we couldn't use it through even one whole night)- this was also 1/3 the price of the vet cone we had to buy, and frankly it's much nicer and better than the crappy hard plastic with the really crappy tie.I believe its also washable fabric, so I can clean it of it gets dirty.Only thing to note is that it's a little big for small animals. Our cat is 6kg but she's pretty small-boned, and so we had to adjust it to about the tightest it could go to prevent it from pulling off. I ordered extra velcro strips in case I needed to sew on an extra one.Extremely happy with this, and recommended these to my friend who is getting two new kitties next week and will need cones for when they are neutered.

This is absolutely the cutest cone out there ! Its working very well on my pom x who had surgery on her back. She doesn't challenge it and is so much more comfortable sleeping and eating, The measurements are accurate. and because it is wider than a standard plastic cone, she gets a wider vision path and can navigate things much easier as she is a senior dog, I bought both colors as I couldn't resist. This is a great product and well made, definitely worth the investment

I think my cat was more comfortable in this, although he could groom and he learnt to twist it but that's just something one can't avoid with a fabric cone. He could sleep comfortably with this.
