Does a great job of allowing to find any kind of metal after regular Metal Detector gives indication.Seems to be good up to six inches of depth. Only problem I find is that the small display is hard to read when sun is out.

It’s very sturdy and solid. Good for what it does! At times I do have to turn it off and back on because it may keep buzzing and beeping for no reason while looking for your target.The first one had to be replaced because the charging port was poorly constructed. Otherwise, it is an awesome back up. The holster totally sucks though.

I needed a backup pinpointer for occasional use when someone wants to metal detect with me. I was not expecting the pinpointer to look and feel as quality as it it does. I currently use the orange "carrot" and I have never really liked it because of the one button and having to cycle through by pressing the button and not knowing where in the settings cycle it is. The Sunpro was well packed in a cloth sleeve, it comes with the standard USB-C charge cable, instruction manual and holster for pinpointer. The pointer feels quality with about the same heft of the orange carrot. A quick read of instruction manual and a power on and a quick air test with a quarter makes me think this will perform as well if not better than the other name brand. There is power level button (3 levels of sensitivity), a sound / vibration button, a light button and an on/off button. I really like the separate on/off button for reasons above. My only concern and not a big one is the unit is all black and would be easy to lose if not for it being tethered by a plastic coated spring. Easy enough to put some high visibility tape on the unit. The tether is a bit short in my opinion but I'll fix that with a retractable tether. Air test were impressive but not the 6" called out in the specifications but good none the less at 2 plus inchs on a quarter in the air. I has an 800 mah rechargeable battery that says it's good for 8-12 hours of use, more than enough for my use. All in all I would recommend based on my initial observations and my experience with the orange carrot. I suspect this will become my primary pinpointer, It is also a good price point. I'll be trying it out in the morning and will update review if it does not meet my expectations.Update: Pinpointer works fairly well but on my second day using it, I noticed that it did not seem to pinpoint as deep as prrvious day and believe it is possibly due to lower battery level?? It does feel quality but needs to be much louder. If it was louder and the lcd brighter, it would be great but needs some refinement but works great as a back up.

This is a great pinpointed. Construction, is heavy duty and the feel is perfect for me. Detection is never the distance any promised, by any of the pinpointed manufacturers, and I have a number of high end pin pointers that are not nearly as good as the Sunpownx-GDO1. It really lets you know metal is in a wall, bottom of hole, or wherever. I (this is me now and I have very good hearing) really like the volume level, but it maybe too soft for others. Vibration is tops, but you can just turn them off if it is not for you. So here are some of the positives. Functionality is 5 star, ease of use is 5 star, accuracy, alert distance, and value for the buck is 5 star.Now the only CON (and for me a huge one). The LCD screen really really suck. Can’t see it in any lighting situation! I really want to keep it because of the pros I listed. For many people this may make this a deal breaker. Sundown needs to fix this ASAP!
