Great lens for my telescope. Now I don't need to remove a lens and put a different one on when I have this one and I can just adjust to zoom. So great!

A zoom objective lens is quite useful but it requires a certain amount of telescope knowledge to get the most out of one. This particular lens is simple enough that a novice can figure it out with some practice and clear skies, of course. The quality is high and this same lens is more than double the price with just a different brand on it. So, do your research before paying top price for something that can cost a lot less at Amazon or similar retailers.

This Svbony SV191 zoom is well built and has a nice feel to it the views though this zoom is very sharp with good contrast to the edge of field of view with no edge distortion at all zoom setting. I found in my viewing at the 7.2 setting I was getting what seem to be around a 61 deg field of view not a full 64 deg but that's not a deal breaker for me but that's why it did not get a 5 star rating. In conclusion it's a very nice zoom the views of the Moon at 21.6mm to 7.2mm were very sharp with good contrast with lot of detail to be seen.

Calidad precio muy destacable. Mucha mejor calidad a diferencia de los oculares que vienen por defecto en telescopios de entrada. Altamente recomendable.

Decent. Similar in price to the Celestron zoom but not quite as sharp at the edge.

I bought this zoom eyepiece both for convenience and cost saving. With a zoom lens you don't have to switch lenses with varied power or buy multiple eyepieces. You get larger or smaller images with the turn of your wrist. The question was whether or not a zoom would provide the image quality of a stand-alone eyepiece. I'm no expert in telescope eyepieces, but I have been very pleased with the image quality of this zoom. The apparent field of view and eye relief are excellent as well.

The SV Bony 191 is a solid choice for those of you whom have the desire to do visual astronomy, however you lack the budget to get a set of prime eyepieces.I’m using the 191 on a 10†Meade Schmidt-Newtonian LXD75 telescope. (1016mm f4) So, it’s a fast aperture light bucket. The focuser isn’t great on it, and that matters when using this eyepiece. The wider focal ranges are tack-sharp in my experience. I’ve read that this eyepiece is parfocal but in my experience, it isn’t. From 21mm to around 14-16mm it's great. Once you start zooming far in, I have to adjust focus. With my personal setup, this eyepiece is quite the addition. I highly recommend it.I use a 32mm eyepiece to find my target. After that, this SV Bony 191 goes in, and aside from an SV Bony Barlow lens (2x) or filter, it stays in the focused the entire night. The twistable eyecup feature is nice. My fiancé wears glasses so, for her having the eyecup all the way down is great. For me, I like to have it all the way up. It twists quite easily, so make sure you’re not putting much pressure on it. The eye relief is great. The FOV is interesting. On the higher range of the focal range, the field is a bit small. Once you zoom in, it greatly expands. Which, is a nice feature. To get photos with your cellphone, you’ll likely have to hand hold it. As the eyepiece is quite large. Which can be difficult, but the size of the eyepiece makes up for it, giving you a flatter plane on which to rest your phone.Overall, I highly recommend the SV Bony 191. It’s a great tool for navigating the night sky, and a must-have for the amateur astronomer. Whether you have a 10†reflector, or a 3†refractor. This versatile eyepiece is great.

Comparado con el Celestron zoom es prácticamente igual aunque con un poquito más de aumento, aunque lo probe en un NexStar 130 SLT, asà que supongo que un mejor equipo se le sacarÃa más provecho

Pros:Clear image with sharp focus. It feels flat to me, especially in the center. Close to the edges, the image is out of focus, but this doesn't bother me. For the money, it's probably impossible to find a better zoom eyepiece.Cons:The apparent field of view is very narrow at 21.6mm. As you zoom to 7.2mm, the AFV progressively increases, but the eye relief decreases and the image dims. At 7.2mm, my eye is so close to the lens that my eyelashes touch it.Turning the zoom knob is difficult. There isn't much to grip onto since almost everything rotates. You may need to tighten it firmly.I have a Hyperion zoom eyepiece mark 4 and I think that this one has a sharper image. This is an excellent eyepiece.

The product is original and was packaged very well. The Lens works as advertised and the image clarity is flawless, I own a 6mm non zoom Lens already but honestly it’s nigh impossible to find the planet correctly with such high magnification. However with this Len’s you can start zoomed out and easily locate the planets like Saturn which is very faint in an urban city, then zoom in slowly to get a crystal clear view of the planets, I could very easily see the rings of Saturn with this Lens without any distortion.

Very comfortable eye relief with nice, wide FOV. I was hesitant to buy a zoom eyepiece because I read the views are not as bright as fixed focal length eyepieces. But this one gives clear, bright, parfocal views throughout the zoom range. If there is any coma at the edges, it is so minor that my eyes don't detect it. I'm very happy with it and its now my most used eyepiece. No negatives to report. I think its well worth the Cdn $113 (with coupon) I paid for it. From reviews I've read, I suspect this 7.2-21.6mm EP is a better choice than the 7-21mm option.
