This worked great with my iPhone 7, but it is just barely big enough for the iPhone 10 in a case. You need to make sure that your phone is perpendicular to your lens or the image will not be complete and will be distorted. I find it easier to take the lens out of my telescope and put the camera and lens together in my car where I can use a flashlight to help me line everything up. The moon also works. I have also used it with my monocular to take pictures of the moon. Again, it is easier to line it up using a flashlight or streetlight than while everything is on the tripod. I included a shot of the moon. Anyway, this is cheap and works well. I may order another so that I can use this with students for stargazing and have one to set up while the other is in use.

Using these things with a scope or bins is a hassle. My complaint isn't about this specific version. All with this open, configurable design will have similar issues.Every time we want to setup the phone to take photos, we have to re-align everything. There's no "set it once" and it is a quick connect every time after that. There are many differences with each mount attempt. The phone placement, the scope placement, the angle it is connected to an eye piece, the alignment between the camera and scope. To get the alignment for the camera and scope setup quickly, mount everything quickly and point at a bright light, so as the phone alignment is zoomed in, it will be obvious with a big out-of-focus light on the screen. Tighten the screws and see how off vertical/horizontal the setup is, then readjust.I found that the horizontal alignment is the hardest to get correct, since shifting to the left or right loosens the entire mount. It is a pain.I'm sure there are other optimizations, like adding markings to the phone case to know how deep the holder should be in the preferred configuration. At least then, there's be 1 known-good setting. Don't think I'd mark on the scope for where vertical alignment should be.The 3 screws are designed to prevent too much hand tightening. This is good and bad. Sometimes it is very frustrating, but I haven't seen any marks on the phone or scopes tested.OTOH, what did I want for $10? It has screws to hold things. There's no spring loaded holder, which is good. It is make with mostly metal, so it should last longer that ABS plastic and it uses a well-known design. An improvement would be to have quick lock settings, like a camera tripod mount has for the scope and phone mounts, to prevent re-adjustments every time the contraption has to be setup with the same phone and scope. Having just the vertical alignment on a screw would really make for a nicer tool.

This is a great product and is way easier to use and much more adjustable than the less expensive ones I've tried. Yes, this is more expensive, but worth every penny. I use it on my spotting scopes as well as my astronomical telescopes, and it works great. HIGHLY recommend. I have a YouTube video on this item, but I couldn't get it to post here. You can find it on YouTube. It is titled "Cell Phone Adapter for Spotting Scopes, Telescopes, Move Shoot MoveTRIDAPTOR"

1. While setting it up on a carpeted floor, I left my iPhone XR in the adapter that was on the right eyepiece of a binocular set up on a camera tripod for all of 2 minutes. The phone crashed to the floor. Also came down with it the rubber grip that is supposed to clamp on the phone from both sides. Why is the rubber grip not glued onto the frame? Luckily, since I was not working on a hard surface, the phone survived.2. Design flaw - the phone holder part of this contraption should be up and away from the surface by a good 0.5 - 0.75 inch to allow for the phone camera to rest on the eye relief that most binoculars and eyepieces have. It is not - and a struggle ensues.3. Hard to position the lens to align with the eyepiece - forget about an easy clamp you might have been thinking of when buying it.On the positive side, it is cheap. Not much else to add to it - oh, and the construction seems OK as well. Barring the shortcomings above, which are enough to shake your confidence in trying to use it in a dark place, and the potential of a costly repair on your phone screen, plus the struggle that you may undergo to use it, it is alright. I am constantly in need of small objects that I can use to hone my aiming skills in my basement, and this looks like a very good candidate. I wonder if a .177 pellet at 1300 fps from a distance of 40 feet would have a lasting impact on it or not.

I was very impressed with the build quality but I found I very difficult to accurately align the phone camera and the telescope eye piece. The vertical alignment is via a slide, but the horizontal alignment is done by pivoting the phone around a choice of two fixed pivot points. At the correct alignment point, the phone holder clamp pressed on the down volume button, which when the phone is in photo mode, switches the camera to video.I could not find any position with the lenses aligned that the would not switch automatically to video.Maybe another phone have better success. My dual lenses phone with the camera bump high on the right side is very difficult to setup.Nice adaptor, just not usable with my phone with out modifications. Definitely not universal.
