Medium to narrower punches bent even during light use. They are quite soft. I was only using a light rawhide hammer to push a very stubborn pistol dovetail sight. That said, since the punches are soft, there is no way they can scratch or gouge harder metals. They will leave residue on flat textured black firearms finishes but that can be removed as would residue from brass shell casings. Overall, an acceptable product for the price but I would consider the thiner punches in this set as potentially single use. I’d probably buy again if I needed multiple sizes of cheap brass punches, particularly if I required soft, non-marring, punches.

I bought this set of brass punches to drive a pin out of one of my pistols so that I could change out the grips, and for that purpose, they work well, as I imagine they would for any other such purpose. I've seen a few reviews here criticizing the durability of these punches because they had them bend or deform on them, but in most cases they either don't specify what they were attempting to use them for or otherwise explicitly state a task which they clearly weren't up to. Steel punches exist for a reason, and that's because some pins aren't meant to be easily driven out, (particularly when it comes to firearms because obviously if they came out easily then they could walk out under recoil) and brass punches aren't up to the task. When you buy tools, you should always make sure that you're buying the right tools for the job. If you want to drive out some pins which are meant to be more readily driven out, then these should work fine, but if you try to use them (or any brass punches for that matter) to drive out pins which are tightly fit for a reason and aren't meant to be readily driven out simply with a few light taps, then they will most likely fail and become damaged in the process. For more heavy duty pins which need a good whacking to drive out, you're better off going with high quality steel punches or perhaps something even harder.

Great punches, durable and nice grip design. Having multiple sizes is nice however they are short. Only 3 1/4in. They worked for what I needed but I will probably buy a longer set as well.

Helped with exactly what I needed it for, punched a sight back into place with no issue or scratches.

It is a good brass set but almost too soft. I already bent one of the punches.
