Pros: It is a real set of SWANSON speed squares! Comes with handy instruction booklet. Very sturdy and rigid metal for years of tough service in construction fields and trustworthy accuracy.You can use it as a SAW guide for quick short cuts angled or straight with something like a battery powered skill saw with good accuracy.CONS: Like any super duper handy tool, there is a learning curve to get the most out of it. I strongly recommend watching a few videos and learn what you need most first. I did find some minor casting defects in my smaller square that came in the set but the defects are purely cosmetic so I did not contact the seller. It would have been nice for their QC to catch this one and reject it before it made it out the door.

Swanson never disappoints when it comes to quality. The 7-inch and 12-inch speed squares are essential for accurate measuring and layout work. The markings are crisp and easy to read, and the aluminum construction makes them durable but lightweight. The included Blue Book is a great reference for rafter layouts. A solid toolset for any woodworker or DIYer.

Solid aluminum, nice black engraved markings. It look like something out of a carpenter's shop in the 50's. The gradations marks are pretty thick so this isn't the most precise tool if you're looking to measure down to the 16th or 32nd. This is perhaps the most basic tool around and one of the most useful. Even using it as a plain straight edge is great. It comes with a handy guide book full of usage options, common measurements, and instructions how to use the tool like a pro.

I do a quite a bit of around the house woodworking and have for many years. I can't believe I have waited this long to buy a set of these. Will never do without them again! Heave duty yet light weight and have so many uses.

Awesome love these things. I never knew these things even existed until i seen them a couple years ago on the classic work youtube channel. I bought the 7 inch one back then and i use it every time i build anything. So i been saying for about 3 or 4 years i have to get that big 12 inch one so i finally did it. It is cheaper to buy the set then just to buy the big 12 and these were listed as used. But you would never know it. They do not have a mark on them. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend these. They are very well made.
