I got this for my 7 year old daughter to play with after swimming lessons. She has to swim to retrieve the doll, then dive to retrieve the heart/box. She really enjoyed the experience.One thing I didn’t expect was the box to only open with water. At least I didn’t find a way in otherwise. In the package, the doll is outside, so the box will need submerged to open before the doll can be inserted for the maiden voyage. That part seemed awkward.From what I can see, it looks like the main chamber of the heart fills with water first. From there, there’s a smaller secondary chamber that contains the latch float mechanism. That one takes some time to fill, so be patient. It’s all obscured and I’m not about to break my daughter’s new toy, so I can only provide an educated guess for how it works.I was hoping to capture a video, but decided it would be too awkward to start recording in the pool area of the Ymca. It’s inexpensive enough to try for yourself: the little ones will love it.

This toy is fun and my daugther likes to play with it in the pool. It has a bright pink color which it is easy to spot in the water. This toy is well-made and durable for pool use. I like that it encourages my daugther to dive and explore underwater.

This is a simple little toy but one that will add a little (splash?) of excitement to our summer pool outings. It's too cold right now, but we actually got to try this out in a heated hotel pool on a little trip we took recently. It works as advertised and the kids were really excited with it. Our son is more the proper age for it, but our daughter is more into Barbie, so it will be something for her to grow into. Meanwhile, this toy is more about the action than the design, and our son really likes it.

This is really fun to use in a pool. I didn't find it worked great in the tub. It does require the heart to fill with water, so be sure to set the expectation for the little ones to be patient. The Barbie is very small, but she was still a hit with my granddaughter who loves Barbie. Overall it is really fun to play with.

I got this for a water-baby 7 year old. The toy itself seems to be well-constructed, it doesn;t look flimsy or cheap as some toys do-- but I had the worst time getting this to fill with water and open! It was frustrating to me, as an adult, and even more frustrating for the 7 yr old. I think that once she uses the toy for a while, with my help, she'll catch on to see that it's easier (I hope!) but for now, it's not the smooth effortless toy experience that I thought it would be

This is such a cute idea! I got this for our 3 yr old niece to play with whenever she's with us. She loves the little Barbie and her flippers. When I showed her how to submerge the heart, she was so excited and giggled so loudly when the Barbie came out of it. Now, as soon as she gets to our house she goes to her toy room and grabs this and wants to take a bath immediately. It's a really neat toy and auntie's little lady loves it!

My little one absolutely loves playing with this toy in the pool! It’s so much fun to watch Barbie swim up and out of the heart, creating a magical and exciting experience. This is a fantastic pool toy that adds extra enjoyment to pool time and keeps kids engaged in the water. Highly recommended for little Barbie fans!

We've tried using it in the bathtub and can't get the shell to open. Other reviewers have used it in the bathtub without issue. To be fair.... it is a pool toy. Maybe it needs a certain depth to drop to in order to open effectively.
