I use this Switchcraft 318BT directly on my Mackie DL32R digital mixer in one of the XLR input jacks. It works GREAT! I love that it is phantom powered, and I don't have to worry about charging it up or getting a battery for it before a gig. Audio quality is excellent, and connectivity is very reliable with my Google Pixel phone.

This item works well to get sound from my phone to my non-Bluetooth mixer. I had a lot of buzzing when using phantom power to the device, but using external power solved that issue. I'm happy with the purchase. It is more expensive than some other models, but it has a heavy duty aluminum shell and I like the fact that it sums both left and right channels whereas some other models are only mono.

As the only phantom power XLR Bluetooth device that sums stereo audio into a single mixer channel, I'm glad to have this unit with Switchcraft standing behind it. However, it has two ergonomic problems that relate to each other.First the good stuff. This unit is rugged to withstand a production environment. It is subject to the range limits of Bluetooth and I find it necessary to use a short cable so the receiver gets better reception by locating it up and away from the usual tangle of gear behind an audio console. The distance it can handle is also a function of the transmitting device. Phones with cases just can't be as far away. Best case for me was a bare iPhone 8 at 60 feet. This is awesome. But an iPhone SE in a case was having trouble beyond 15'. YMMV.The unit will also sit nicely in a mic stand for use on stage. What is disappointing is that the unit will not pair with a second device once it is been paired with another one. That is, one person uses it and a second comes along. The unit will not pair with the second one unless the first person un-pairs the device (disconnecting is not enough). If un-pairing is not possible, the unit must be reset. This is the second problem and if it's fixed, will go a long way toward making the first problem above more bearable. In order to reset the unit, you need a bent paper clip or other small tipped instrument. A pen will not work. So in a multi-user environment, you have to go hunting around for a paper clip just to switch transmitting devices. This severely restricts its usefulness. Especially if it's not easily retrieved. If the reset button could be pressed with, oh, I don't know, A FINGER, it would make the unit DRAMATICALLY more useful. Now THAT would be legendary Switchcraft design. As an aside, the instructions are clear that hookup of the unit must be done with phantom power off. Think about that in a real world production environment. The unit needs to be near the source. That could very well put it on stage somewhere 50-150' from FOH. So before you can plug it in on stage, you have to go to the console and power off phantom. Return to the stage and plug it in. Then go back to the console to turn on phantom power. Then go back to the stage and resume setup unless of course, you need to reset the device .... now go find a paper clip. *#^#(*@!&!!!!EPILOG: I made my own reset gizmo and super glued it to the unit. It's ghetto but it works. I don't expect it to last though.

Works great for providing break-time music between sets through the PA from my phone. Range has been adequate everywhere I’ve used it. I can walk around the venue without any drop-out.

Charging and phantom features are great. Build quality is great. Range is not the best. Sound quality was disappointing. Sounded like a very low sample rate. Multiple devices were tested; iPad, Android devices, and PC. The same devices used to broadcast to other Bluetooth devices with great results on a daily basis.
