Good looking and good design. Excellent quality. Swivel adjustment makes the difference for this product. BUT supplied wall anchors and screws are useless. One side must be installed to the stud with bigger screw and other side should use large anchor and screw. I'm just repeating others revievers and we expect that manufacturer should be doing that right now!

I was a commercial contractor for 30 years now retired. I chose these brackets to replace a cheap builder grade handrail on my home. They are supporting a heavy aluminum powder coated rail. I was surprised at the high quality for the money. They are certainly up to the job and I will use them again on other rails in the house.

If you are installing them at an angle like I did, you need to install on the hand rail side first, then adjust the angle and attach to the wall.

The screws are not good enough for the hardwood rails. They break when I try to put them in.

At some level, stair railing brackets are stair railing brackets but here are a few things to consider. These brackets are heavy 1/8" metal and have adjustable plates on the arm so that the bracket can be installed level and adjusted to match the slope of the stairs. It's not a big thing but it looks better aesthetically. The other thing I like about these is the size of the back plate that mounts to the wall or post. The plates measure 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" by 1/8" thick. Fastened in place with a heavy screw these brackets are going to carry a significant load. The heavy gauge metal and adjustability are a winning combination.
