Synology didn't pack the package very good. HDD's only take a few pounds of pressure to damage them. When I received this item, the drives were loose in the enclosure. They drives had snapped off their brackets because they use plastic locking mechanisms. I strongly suggest not using those locking tabs and instead use the screws that come with it. Synology, if you are shipping drives with these units, you need to pack the display box with the item using at lease 3 inchs of packing material on all sides. Luckily the drives were not damaged and I used screws to replace the plastic locking tabs.Besides that, this is a great device as far as features go for an NAS, but I recommend not getting the NAS with drives included. I have seen this too many times now to know that they don't really thinking about the packing situation when its shipped with drives included.

Save yourself a ton and get an old computer system on your own. I got two of these and one was DOA, and the other died a few days later.

nothing works here, the information on the web site is useless. When I try to log in, the default username and password are not accepted. On further investigation I find disks with something already on them. This is unusable hardware for enormous amounts of money!

Ich hatte vorher schon mal eine Buffallo, bzw. WD My Cloud. Diese ist zwar etwas teurer, macht aber einen sehr guten Eindruck und hat vor allem auch verschiedene tolle Apps mit an Bord. Von außen greife ich lediglich über mein AVM VPN zu, so dass die NAS nicht immer online sein muss.

This is the worst product I’ve ever used. It frequently disconnects, making it almost unusable. After struggling for 2-3 hours, it might start working, only to fail again shortly after. The cycle repeats endlessly. It’s frustrating and not worth the effort. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this at all costs. There are far better alternatives out there—don’t waste your time or money on this one!

Mein 2. NAS von Synology (das erste läuft immer noch (seit 2014) und dient nun als Backup-NAS).Alles funktioniert wie gewünscht, es ist relativ leise (dank Silence Mode sogar fast unhörbar) und der Energieverbrauch ist auch im grünen Bereich.
