Make sure you put grease or anti seize on the threads and end of the threaded rod and it works great. A little stiff at first but after 2 uses its broken in nicely. The price is right too.

Received tool and found complete . Not very well build to use with out some modification to the base. Needed more weld and support to adjustment the opening to allow the part your working on to be able to clear. I installed onto a stand.dint have pic yet will update

Multiple issues, fist the the silver handle with the screw shaft does not spin freely at all in cross shaft that holds the down legs that apply pressure to the drum. Constantly binds and down legs twist out of place. Secondly, down legs fits so loosely on cross shaft the will not stay upright they either fall in towards the center or work their way outwards and fall off crossbars as your turning center shaft handle. Terrible cheap construction. would never recommend. Save money and frustration and buy a better quality unit.. Buy the way unit is meant to be held in a vise. During turning in screw one leg popped of the cross bar and allowed forward clutch drum to come loose and fall to ground which broke my forward drum on my 4r44e trans so now have to take money out of pocket for part this piece of junk tool.

When it come to disassembling drum, you need something like this. Save a lot of time and increase your safety.

It's made cheap I've already had problem with the little bar that comes off the screw the t-bar that presses on the clutch to press down it kept acting like it was threaded he was trying to turn the whole thing while I was trying to keep it still and put pressure to get c-clip off made pain in ass wouldn't not buy again save your money by a better one

The cross bar that you hang the 2 pieces on has a set screw that holds it on to the threaded piece that screws down and it's actually welded over so that you can't actually see it until it breaks and the cross bar no longer is held onto the threaded piece so I had to drill another hole tap it and put another set screw in it.

I considered building my own tool but determined this would be a better because, if it broke, I could improve upon it. The tool is sturdier than I expected. I was expecting to have to replace the threaded rod with something stronger, and weld on bolts with more durable threads. Neither has been necessary after a few uses. One thing that did break was the grub screw holding the T-bar. For some reason they weld over the screw head, but I ground out the weld, replaced the grub screw and also used this tool to compress the accumulator spring in a TH350 valve body (in addition to the spring cages in the forward and intermediate drums). Always grease threads on this type of tool.
