My factory original 4x4 RAM 3500 is too tall to simply step on the bumper and climb up, I purchased this step and it installed easily, Instead of using a standard removable hitch pin to retain it, I used a high strength bolt, washer and nut. I did this to better protect the step from theft, If the thief doesn't have two wrenches in his kit, he will not likely steal it. The hitch finish is robust and durable. The anti-rattle clip and hand screw helps to keep the step from moving around in the receiver and makes the step more stable when it is stepped on. I would recommend it. One caveat: no touch automatic car wash sensors do not see this step and will run the wash head into it.

The step for getting into the back of our 4-wheel drive UTV was pretty high off the ground. This nicely halves the distance when getting on, making getting in and out of the back much easier. Works great with rear facing seat. Also works with rear seat-back folded down for a deck. I thought it might be a shin-banger when walking around, but I have not had any problem with that. The receiver part has a small, flat, base plate that the actual step mounts to; I used it as a step for several weeks that way, before I added the actual step part onto the base plate. It worked fine either way. Wide step is good for two rear facing passengers to get in and off. The small plate part worked fine alone.

Gets the job done. Only downside is it has a fair amount of wax to it being aluminum. It’s nice and light though and that’s what I was mostly after. I did stand on the far side and jumped up and down to see if it would bend. It seems sturdy just flexible.

I would give it five stars if it was all steel, but the end caps are plastic. I came down on it hard and on the end once and the end cap popped off and I hit the ground. On the other hand, I backed into the pavement from a steep driveway hard enough to stop my truck, and the step was only slightly bent. I was able to straighten it out, and it suffered no damage to speak of. Aside from the plastic it is well built and looks good.UPDATE After being rear ended and the step being destroyed, I bought another one. This time I fastened the plastic end caps on with sheet metal screws, and they haven't come off again.

Easy to assemble.Relative good value compared to specialized golf step kits.Have to be careful going over large inclines or ditches with heavy rear loads as step may scrape ground since it is more than 6 inches lower.Seems to be pretty stable over width of step although best to step on center. My 4 and 6 year old grandkids had no problem using it.Wish there was a tension spring over knob for tightening to hitch as vibration could cause it to loosen and drop out.

The step is very "Grippy". It is aggressively non slip to a level unsurpassed by anything I know of. Yea.It is very light weight. It fits behind the front passenger seat out of the way when not in use.It is kind of flimsy due to the light weight I guess, but it is something you need to know because you don't want to use this for heavy duty operation or for frequent use or it will probably break. There must be other units available that are not as flimsy.If you are planning to use this for public transportation or on company trucks where other employees will be using it you should probably look for a stronger product so it will hold up under those adverse conditions.
