Takes about 5 minutes to install. You will likely need to remove a few of the T-30 Torx bolts holding down the plastic tailgate cover so the lock will fit under the cover. The lock fits very snugly on my 2020 Tacoma. I was a little concerned prior to purchase that it could easily be pried off. I tried, and it didn't budge. I'm very happy! It’s also slightly visible with the tailgate closed, which is what I want. This should prevent most thieves from looking for an easy target.

Easy to install wouldn’t know theres a lock until the gate is dropped. Tailgate will not come off with thus lock on. Good piece to have.

Works as advertised. But test key before you install. Some people had lemons.

I received this last night and installed it today. It will protect my Toyota pickup truck bed from theft in the future. It was easy to install on the truck.

I have a 2023 Toyota Tacoma and after 2 years, someone attempted to steal my tailgate tonight! I purchased this lock back in July 2024 and it was the best purchase ever!!!! They tried to steal it but couldn’t due to the lock!!! I just saved myself thousands of dollars!! Feels great to know a thief was not happy.

It is a mystery to me why Toyota would make the Tacoma's tailgate so easily removable. I understand making it convenient but seems to me Toyota was just lazy and thieves ended up benefiting the most from it. This lock installs very easily but it is best if you unbolt the inside cover to give yourself move room to slide it into place. Just make sure there is no debris around the hinge because it is a very tight fit. Also the included black round sticker piece doesn't stick to the lock at all for me, so I used a strong piece of waterproof tape to do the job

Just like the title says. No install instructions. Pretty straight forward but didnt i know had to break/pull out the plastic pin before it installing.The red really pops and it works great. Very sturdy
