Remove the old one, Install the new one. Fit like a glove. Works a lot better than the broken one.

I had to replace the tailgate on my F150 2006. I was able to buy a new metal shell off another site (made in China) that turned out to be an exact fit. I needed to either transfer the old hardware or buy new. The tailgate handle was bashed up so I ordered this one. It, too, was an exact fit and an easy install. I comes with a gasket, which many don't so that's a bonus. Challenge: the gasket is not rubber, which would have been better, but shiny plastic which didn't want to stay seated during the install: aggravating! I ended up using special super glue for plastic to glue it to the handle before putting it into the ident in the tailgate, a step I wish I didn't need to take.Still, the handle itself fits right, looks good, and operates flawlessly.
