I can’t say enough about this chalk box. My boss is a master carpenter, general contractor, builder extraordinaire, and he’s been using these exclusively for a few years now.I started with a couple Milwaukee boxes and they’re fine. I tried out a lightweight crescent brand box and it is also fine (good for light duty and keeping my bags light).I finally gave in and bought this guy and it’s so much less finicky. The cover/cap has a built in holder for you to secure the hooks, the gearing is smooth as butter, the clear body lets you see what color chalk you have at a glance, the string leaves a bold clean line. It’s brilliant.The only con I have found is that as the box gets older, it starts to “spill†a bit of chalk as you pull your line out. I use these generally for framing and rougher work, so that doesn’t bother me. However, I would probably look for something like my plastic bodied crescent for fine or finish work where staying clean is paramount.I highly recommend this box.

Bought the special edition and was charged for the special edition, but recieved the normal chalk rite 2 jam free and not the red colored special edition box. Didnt wanna go through the hassel and just wanted to try the Tajima and the box works good.

Not my first tajima chalk line or product in general don't let the not big brand name scare you off these tools are built right! Best chalk lines in the business just make sure you take care of them like any pricey tools.
