Creating and cutting a perfect circle is difficult to say the least. For many years I have kept an ordinary 12 inch ruler in my kitchen. It is practical but will not help when a perfect circle is needed. You can create circles which range from 4 inches all the way to 14 inches. Perfect for a small tart, a quiche or a family sized pie. The guide also lets you know the diameter for standard sized pie dishes. For example, for an 8 inch pie dish you will need an 11 inch pastry crust. The guide will also give dimension all the way to a 14 inch pie crust. It is nice to know you will be correct the first time. This tool is flexible but well made and easy to keep clean. Once you have it you will find more uses.

I like this product and it’s great for getting my pie crust the right size. I was tricky to use until I put the crust I was cutting on the lazy Susan I use to ice cakes though.

Pastry guide was delivered rapidly and Amazon carried the best price for this essential pastry implement. I produce numerous tarts, pies and quiches from scratch for the holidays. This pastry guide is thin and flexible but most effective for measuring the pastry accurately. The slot on the arm works nicely when forming a radius. Be sure to hold the red center button down with a light pressure when turning the arm.

I really wanted this to work. First off, why do the cutting guide hash marks where you place the knife have little circles on each side? I suppose maybe you utilize them for something other than pie crust? But that's not the biggest problem. The end away from the center drags on the pie crust, marring it while trying to make the cut; too heavy on the distal end. I even tried it on two different crusts; one home made and the other ready prepared. Also, it's just too awkward to use. Unless you are using something like a lazy susan, it's just too hard to maneuver. I did like that guide tells you if you have a certain diameter pie pan, you need a crust of a certain diameter. For example and 8 inch pie pan needs an 11 inch crust. But even that isn't right if you happen to be using a deep dish pie pan. I'm going to return this product. Save your money

I am anxious to use this the next time I make pie crusts. I usually have trouble judging the size of the pie crusts so this will make me have to handle the dough as much.

It's kind of hard to use. You need a super sharp knife, otherwise it catches in the dough.

Was very excited to try this as I hate trimming the top crust. It functions as it should, however after the second wash, and I did not scrub it, just wiped it with the dish cloth, the markings started disappearing. This item is pretty useless to me without the markings as I now have to stop and look at a paper that wrote down which size goes with each spot, there’s a lot of size options on it. It is now just an inconvenience to use. I do not recommend this item as it is made now.

Very flimsy item. if it cost more than a couple of pounds to make I'd be very surprised.
