So you spend $360 on your taser and another $100 on cartridges (if you are smart - you buy 4+ cartridges as replacements) - all of it goes for nothing if you don't have power. I know the Taser has an energy bar on it but why take the chance? It's $20 to keep everything up and running the way it should be. You should buy it as a reserve to keep in stock in case you can no longer order them anymore - this would be the case where your entire investment went down the tubes because you didn't order the extra $20 battery for a foe-firearm you already spent over $450 on. This is like buying a shotgun and never buying shells for it because it came with 6 already. Plan for those contingencies that cannot be planned and foreseen. Think outside the box and when it comes to your own personal safety or that of your family's - you should go ahead and buy the extra battery to keep your weapon in the fight.

I see a lot of reviews complaining about the short lifespan of the batteries. When I cut open the housing my dead batteries there were in fact Lithium 3 volt Duracell. I am not happy about the 2 year life time either. However, and I am guessing , the reason for the short lifetime is probably due to the batteries keeping the capacitors charged up even when it is turned off. Why would they design it this way? Because when you need to pull the trigger you need instant power. Once you accept this you can see how they can precisely tell you how long the batteries should last = 2 years. And they say the two $70 cartridges last 5 years which means that the Pulse cost approximately $2.20 a month to maintain

I wrote Axon customer support because Amazon told me the warranty on the battery is from the manufacturer and not the seller.I purchased it from Amazon on April 7, 2024. The battery unfortunately depleted after only 5 months. I was seeking assistance under the 1-year warranty that was advertised with the product. Axon informed me that civilian products are only warrantied for 90 days.Product details:- Item: Taser Pulse Battery Pack- Purchase date: April 7, 2024- Retailer: Amazon- Issue: Depleted batteryAs the battery pack is designed to be good for 50 firings with a 30-second runtime on each firing, I believe this early depletion may be premature. I have not used the device extensively, and it has been properly stored and maintained.Axon lead me by the nose sending emails to request a RMA number and print special labels to return the battery. They claim they sent a UPS label free of charge which never happened.I do not recommend replacing the battery. I recommend selling the product.
