Love this device for the low price, and easy readability and functionality (the screen is easy to photograph even in bright light to record temperatures and locations using a GIS equipped smart phone) -- but unfortunately I've destroyed at least four of these thermometers over the last four years. I work in the field measuring water temperatures and for whatever reason (possibly hard use) these continue to fail in a variety of ways, primarily at the site where the wire enters the box. When they do work, they are fabulous and I give them as gifts as well. Last I heard no one had wrecked theirs. As a fisherman I use them for measuring water temperatures, but as a part-time fisheries biologist, I probably need to purchase something a bit more robust.

It does what it is supposed to do and it does it well. Easily mounted in different ways. Long temperature probe, battery appears to last a year or more & is easily replaced.. Of the dozen I have installed over the years only one died on me and had to be replaced, but it lasted a year or more under restaurant conditions..

Excellent product. we have bought many of these in the past. we use them in our production area which is cold and wet and they last quite long.
