Works great for meat on the grill, however, it is not calibrated correctly to use as a rectal thermometer.

this thermometer is accurate, easy to read, and long enough to check the temps in my 5 gallon buckets. I recommend it to fellow DWC

The thermometers original battery was dead when I received it, but I easily found a replacement at Walmart for a few dollars. Once I replaced the battery it worked great. I use it for my aquarium so the long stem makes using it simple and easy.

Loved this to start with, but after a month or so it inconsistently reads low, anywhere from about 3-7 degreesF. For the price I was hopeful it would hold accuracy longer. I used to stock these in our corporate lab, but can’t afford to restock every month.

When this item was received, there was no "ribbon" in the battery compartment so the battery was quite drawn out by the time I first used it.After a replacement battery was installed at my cost, I found this unit to be very sensitive and accurate.
