Your cart is empty.This pair of dividers come with a removable solid brass pencil attachment and a carbide scriber. Pencil holder will work with standard #2 wood pencils. Overall length 6-1/4” with opening of 7-1/2” when legs fully opened. Dividers are made from carbon steel then machined and lapped. The box joint is riveted and will move smoothly and hold settings. Has locking quadrant mechanism with integrated stop. Fashioned with square legs and round hardened tips.

This was relatively heavy and you can tell right away it was of high quality. The thumb screw locks the angle very well. Bought this to scribe wood trim when building an entertainment center.

This is a very well made tool. The only reason I took a satellite was because the set screw that holds the scribe doesn't screw in. It wasn't thread all the way through so had to thread it myself. Other than that its great. Oh and I had to, as other reviews stated, lightly sand the channel smooth. That being said, one of my favorite tools in the drawer.

The compass is very sturdy. We wanted one that wouldn't collapse or spread as you were using it, and this one is definitely locked in place! It's pretty big and heavy but I guess that means it's solidly built. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because it doesn't come with a pencil. What is shown in the picture is the carbide scriber.

It was not machined properly. The track that the screw is in is not lined up properly with the rest of the compass so it binds and makes it very difficult to make fine adjustments without it feeling jerky. I ended up reaming it out with a dremel and spraying Teflon in it to smooth it out. Honestly, I like my cheap Harbor Freight one better.

As others mentioned, it was necessary to Dremel file and buff the inside of the arced metal set screw adjustment slot to allow for bur removal and smooth operation, but after that, it works quite well.
