The item arrived undamaged. It included a plastic measuring cup and an instruction sheet showing how to disassemble and reassemble the 4-piece lid for cleaning. The lid required assembly. I've opened and closed the lid once per day on average for 4 months and the seal is still air tight. The container can hold a 20-pound bag of rice with less than an inch of space remaining under the closed lid, which means that the measuring cup will have to be mostly buried in the rice to close the lid when the container is full (this is just an observation; it's not a problem).The measuring cup is marked with "1/4", "1/2", and "3/4" but they do not correspond with the US standard cup. Filling to the "1/2" mark actually equals 1/3 US cup; and filling to the top is actually 3/4 US cup.Note: The handle on the lid is NOT for lifting and carrying the container! Pushing the handle down causes the rubber ring on the lid to expand and seal against the bucket, creating an air-tight seal. Pulling the handle up releases the rubber ring so that the lid easily removes for access to the bucket's contents.If you must move the bucket when it's heavy, lift it up by the sides and bottom, not by the handle on the lid. This is perfectly fine for me as I won't frequently need to move it from its reserved location on my kitchen counter.

I'm pleased with my purchase of this storage container. It's large enough to hold 10 lbs of rice so it's moderately large without being huge. The lid is tight, but easily opens when I push in the top. I'm don't understand the technology involved with what appears to be a simple lid, but it's amazing.

Mine arrived in perfect condition and locks as it's supposed to. I can't comment on the actual airtightness until the humid summer comes and I find out if my sugar turns into a boulder or not. I will say that this is very expensive for a container and that the plastic does not match that price. It should be much thicker for $40. Hold onto this thing for dear life and do not drop it from even a short distance because it will absolutely crack.

We buy several kitchen staples in bulk and these containers work great for sugar, flour and rice. No issues with the lid, it always seals well. Recommend to others that also bulk buy!

5 lb flour containers only hold 5 lbs with no extra space. Impossible to fill with our spilling or making a mess...at least for me. So I got this 10 lbs. flour container and it's great. When my bread flour gets low I can refill without making a mess. The container is clear and looks great in my new (was my coat closet) pantry. I would definitely recommend it.

Perfect for rice which is what weve been using it for for the past 4 months and its been dry and bug free. Sturdy and good for the price. The handle is not for carrying, it is to secure the airtight lid

The seal came off by itself after only two days, after following the vague instructions putting it back numerous frustrating times, the seal never stays in place, this container will be returned, poorly made and expensive for a plastic tub that does not work.
