I needed something that would quickly make larger holes is an established flower bed. The bed is fairly sandy with fluffy soil. This tool worked great for me! Used a heavy-duty 1/2 inch drill and auger never flexed or disappointed in any way. Were my ground dry and hard, or clay, I would have worried that the auger might fail -- but that is a sense with no data to back it up. That said, if the hard soil was dampened, the auger would likely work fine. Speaking as a mechanical engineer . . . . .

It can be attached to a regular power hand drill. You can drill into soil to plant bulbs. It saves time and can drill holes deep enough.

I recently purchased the TCBWFY Auger Drill Bit for planting, and it has made gardening so much easier! The drill bit is incredibly sturdy and well-made, with a sharp, spiral design that easily digs into the soil. I’ve used it for planting flowers, vegetables, and shrubs, and it significantly speeds up the process compared to manual digging. The bit attaches easily to my power drill, and it’s lightweight enough to handle comfortably, but durable enough to handle tough soil. It drills deep and wide enough to make planting simple—no more digging holes by hand. Plus, it works well in both clay and loose soils, which is perfect for my garden.I also appreciate how it reduces the strain on my hands and back. The auger is efficient, and it cuts through the earth with minimal effort. Cleanup is quick, and the quality is top-notch—no bending or dulling after multiple uses.Overall, this auger drill bit has been a fantastic tool for my gardening projects. It saves me time and energy and makes planting more efficient. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to make their gardening tasks easier!

Pretty simple, works as described and will make the hole very fast. Works best in softer soil with not a lot of rocks but I have used it in some harder soil and works good, just takes a little longer.

Used this 3" x 12" auger to plant 187 Liriope plants. Tried it in an 18v cordless drill but then switched to a 3/8" corded electric drill which worked great. I found that holding the auger vertically was the trick. I had a lot of small roots to contend with but had no problems. Because of the distance I was from power, I used my small Honda generator moving it around as I went around my property.

This looked so easy for planting bulbs and impaciens. A hand shovel was easier. The problem I had was that if the soil was hard, the bit loosened so that it didn't work no matter how tightly I tried.

The husband loves his garden tool. It has saved him many hours of labour working in the garden and did a better job with it .

I had to make holes to fix my fence, and I can say it is really good.

The holes are too small for my requirements.
