Techko’s patented “Safe Pool” provides alarm protection to outdoor gates or home doors leading to potentially dangerous pool and spa areas. The Safe Pool features weather resistant construction and mounts directly to either wood or metal doors, windows or gates. When children open the protected door, window or gate by more than 1 each, the unit will sound its built-in 110 dB high output alarm, notifying nearby adults of the attempted entry. The by-pass button allows entry to exit for adults without sounding the alarm, but if the sensors are left open the alarm will sound within 7 seconds. Once the door, window or gate is closed, the unit will reset automatically to resume protection.

We have used these before and would recommend. They do what they are suposed to do and were easy to install.Great that they are plug in so when adults only are about they can be unpluged to save having to turn them on and off when entering. they are very load when they go off which is what you want.

This unit was recommended by my county pool code, so I felt that I had to purchase it to meet pool safety codes. However, the by-pass to allow you to pass through the door without activating the alarm only works from the inside of the door as you proceed to go outside, so when you return to the door to come back inside, you have to listen to the horrific blast of sound until you can frantically get to the by-pass button, while the sensor outputting the excessively loud decibels of noise are right at ear level. There has got to be a better way of meeting pool safety codes.

If you are using it for a sliding exterior door it isn't a good fit. You can deactivate it to get out but in order to get back in, the alarm sounds.

The alarm itself is way too loud & I'm not really liking the power cord set up...but the price is good.

The county inspector demanded I buy this for the two doors leading out to our pool. They make the loudest noise I have ever heard. These alarms should be used for doors that you never want opened. My youngest child started crying, my oldest spilled his milk, and the dogs barked for so long one of them threw up. These things are going in the trash as soon as our permit is issued.
