I compared the new belt with the old one and they were exactly the same length. The new belt was a little wider which I consider to be a plus. Now I'll have to see how long it lasts. Installed it on an old Technics SL-B5.

I got a fantastic deal on the turntable. As is usual for this vintage the rubber belt has disintegrated into crumbs and a gum strip. I was nervous that because there are so many turntables and belts in history, the specific one required could easily have been mis-tracked in all these years, or stored in less than perfect conditions, etc but to my delight it was perfect and the other mechanics of the deck clicked into gear and there is now life in the old thing, and our collection of records is rediscoverable by the next generation.Great purchase ! :)
