I bought 3 of these a couple of years ago, one for gas, one for diesel and one for water and they worked great. They can be used with Gas AND Diesel. Loved how you can use the AC plug (about 8'cord) or use the DC cord/alligator clips (about 8' cord) for connecting to the battery on the machine. The fuel hose is also around 8', does not auto shutoff but can be set it to "hands free" as long as your there to eyeball the fuel level. The hose is plastic but is actually pretty durable, I do take care NOT to kink it or pull on it real hard just to be safe. We've probably used around 200+ gal so far thru each one and worked fine (and probably twice that with the wife watering her plants.) I did have one die this summer. Not sure why but got another one to replace it. They MAY not fit some 5 gal cans, they fit a couple of mine but wouldn't fit the others. I now use them with 4-14 gal fuel tanks for (2) gas and (2) diesel. (and an extra one for the water) My original plan was to use one pump for gas and diesel but was afraid of getting too much diesel mix in the gas for the smaller tanks on push mowers, pressure washers, etc. but the pumps do drain really good when done but I got tired of bringing the tanks to the machine or pushing them to the shop to fuel so I just kept my 2 gallon can for those. I use the pump and larger tanks for the tractors, riding mowers, SxS, etc. Mines the old version tanks with the two brass shutoff's. You do have to lay the tanks down to use these pumps, the same way you fuel them. The TERA PUMP TREP03 Multi-Purpose Powered Liquid Transfer Pump / E85 Fuel Transfer Pump does a great job of moving fuel from the can to the tank. Simply plug it into an outlet and it's ready to go. The filter is a little too large for standard fuel cans, so you'll need a can with a larger opening, like the Stens No-Spill 1457 Diesel Fuel Can.I use a portable battery/power thing to pump fuel into my tractor. You can also plug it into any wall outlet or attach it to a car battery to power the pump. You can lock the trigger if you need to, but be careful to monitor the tank you're filling so you don't over fill. It pumps the fuel from a five gallon can in a matter of a few minutes (I haven't timed it). Plus, you don't need to lift the can because of the long pump hose. I think it's between 6-8 feet.If you're getting tired of picking up heavy fuel cans, consider getting this pump. It works great.

The older I get the heavier the 5 gallon fuel containers become. I was looking for a simpler, easier way to fuel up my gas powered equipment at home. That includes a Derre 570 lawn tractor, a Husqvarna lawn tractor, 22" lawn mover, generator, pressure washer, etc. I live on 10 acres in a rural area.Pull of the box, disappointing. A cheap looking, cheap plastic pump. I generally buy commercial grade equipment, not residential.Installed the batteries. Put the 5 gallon container on the seat of the Deere. Turned on the pump. Inserted the nozzle into the fuel entry and activate the nozzle.Worked like a dream. It filled the gas tank faster than pouring from the container. Far easier, safer, and better.When tank was filled shut down the nozzle then the pump. No issues. I have only used it on e so I cannot speak to longevity of the pump.The only part that requires attention is drawing the pump and feed line/nozzle prior to storing the pump. The instructions speak to it. Follow them to drain everything safely.Always follow hydrocarbon safety rules. Only use in an open area. Drain carefully. Remember one gallon of gas equals the explosive power of eight sticks of dynamite. I worked decades in the oil business.

Couldn't be happier with the gas pumps I bought. Easy-to-understand directions, and best of all, I don't have to lift the darned 5 gallon cans of gas anymore!!!! Great delivery and I know my neighbor will love his, too. Thank you!

This unit works as advertised....and saves the back aches, gas spills and is a great unit to use on the docks.No more sloping down the side of the cars, no more spilling into the lake, pumps a 20 liter gas can in a few minutes. The two D cell batteries have lasted more than 25 fills so far, and the pump end of the unit fits all major gas / diesel can openings. Nifty on/off handle works well as well. UL approved is reassuring.
