The testo 557s ac recovery machine is the life-saving tool for every HVAC technician. The hoses that come with this have garbage O-rings. I’ve been doing hvac for over 10 years and never burned my hands so much than when using these gauges. The gauge itself is great, but is definitely recommend different hoses.

This is a great set! Has all the options you need in a manifold set. I compared the Mastercool but it reflected the price difference in quality. I looked at the more expensive fieldpiece but Testo was a little less. Took me three times to get a good one. The first one I ordered was an opened box item. Supposed to be complete, just a damaged box. It showed up without the hoses. The second one I ordered showed up in a box in a box with an old shipping label cut off the inside box. Made me think it was previously returned as well. Didn’t keep it. The third one I ordered appears to be the real deal.

All hoses failed within 30 days. They have the plastic seals on them. Sucks when you’re on an overnight job and 2 of your hoses break seal. Customer support was unhelpful. Hours on hold and being transferred between Amazon and the manufacturer got me no where. So much for the 90 day guarantee.The micron gauge doesn’t really work that great. It can help with diagnosis but not with pulling a vacuum. Constant updates. Literally every time I bring this out (almost daily) there is some sort of update for the device or phone app that takes forever and completely resets the system so you have to just bypass it unless you want to spend an extra 2 hours on a hot rooftop. They’ve got some work to do with the technology.
