Particle Size Matters

Unlike the pebble-sized particles in a typical 10-10-10 fertilizer that can be found at your local hardware store, PGF Balanced particles are extremely fine. In fact, the particles are so small, PGF Balanced provides more than double the coverage of your average granular fertilizer. Significantly better coverage ensures every square inch of your lawn or garden is receiving the nutrients it needs for an even feeding.

PGF Balanced for Lawns

New or Established Lawns

PGF Balanced can be used any time during the growing season but is ideal for use in early spring and fall when high nitrogen levels are not as desirable. Lawns can be established or recently seeded. PGF Balanced can also be used during sod installation.

PGF Balanced for Gardens

Gardens and Flower Beds

Gardens can benefit from this perfectly balanced formula by mixing the PGF Balanced fertilizer into the soil while turning or tilling at the beginning of the growing season. Continue with PGF Balanced applications every 3 weeks, or as needed.

PGF Balanced for Trees and Shrubs

Trees and Shrubs

Trees and shrubs in landscaped areas will appreciate a nutritional boost from PGF Balanced. For established plants, apply PGF Balanced one to two times each year at the base. For new trees and shrubs, work PGF Balanced into the soil when planting.

Application Recommendations

One 18 lb bag of PGF Balanced fertilizer will provide up to 5,000 sq ft of coverage. While this formula can be applied any time during the growing season, it is ideal for spring and fall applications. Be sure to sweep or blow off sidewalks and driveways as the added iron can leave rust marks. If you have left over product, seal the bag completely and store in a dry, climate controlled area.

For Best Results

  • Apply to dry foliage
  • Blow or sweep off paved areas

Lawn greened right up and I ran short and you could see right where I hadn’t gotten to. I am going to use this every year. Amazing stuff. Stop paying those guys to come spray your yard with mostly water. Spread this in 15 minutes and watch your lawn green up in days.

Does its job. Shocked my centipede into a full green up, the best time to throw this stuff down is right when your grass is coming out of dormancy and you see a few green grass blades. The spreadability is the best on the market with the fine granules, 4 stars for price because as always Andersons products are too expensive.

My yard is definitely thickening up. It nice not to see dirt between runners and blades again. It's also a hell of a lot greener. And it's starting to grow so fast, that three days after cutting it starts looking like a hippie in need of a hair cut. So yeah, if a better looking lawn. And runaway growth that acts as a weed shield isn't your cup of tea. You might want to look elsewhere. ;-)Seriously though, it took two applications. One month apart. And then another month to really kick in. My yard was pretty starved of nutrients when I moved in. So this worked wonders for it. I also coupled it with a bag of BioChar for the initial application.

I think this is a quality product. I put it down today 3/13/24 after doing a Spring scalp on my front Bermuda lawn. Where I think I messed up at was my Spreader settings. I unfortunately do not have one of the recommended spreaders mentioned on the product label so I had to guess conservatively what my setting should be for this product application. At my lowest setting available I may have made 3 passes, 50 feet each way and the product was pretty much gone. The prills are super small in this product, you have to be careful and follow the instructions to the best of your ability and resources. Hindsight I should have used a hand spreader for a more thorough application over 5,000 sq feet. It would have taken a lot longer but it beats the alternative of wasting money 💰.

Used it for the "Fall Fertilizer" on my Bermuda to take the lawn into the Winter. It worked great, but, the suggested setting for my spreader was wrong... if I had used that setting, I would have used up the fertilizer before I could have spread over my entire yard. I had to improvise with my spreader and I was able to cover the lawn (the area of the lawn was equal to the advertised "coverage area" of the bags that I bought). However, once I got it on my grass, the lawn greened up and stayed green from Oct into Dec (I live in Texas..). My dislike was the price! It works, but you pay for it!

I’ve been watching product reviews (Doc on YouTube) for this fertilizer and I need to tell you it’s the best one out there. Everyone that walks by my yard so far has made a great comment about it and asks me what I am using. my evil twin doesn’t wanna share the secret because I feel I have the best looking yard on the block. The other twin spills the goods and shares where to buy and all that. And why not? It’s a great product and I want everyone on my block to have a nice looking yard.

I have lived at my newly built home in southeast Louisiana for the past seven years. This year was the worst time that I have seen weed growth in my lawn. I was rather concerned and thought that it would be impossible to provide the proper treatment at a reasonable cost.In mid-March, I generously used The Andersons Barricade pre-emergent. Forty-five days later I used The Andersons PGF Balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer combined with Scott's "Bonus S" Southern Weed & Feed. Then three weeks ago I used The Andersons PGF Complete 16-4-8 fertilizer with the recommended irrigation on my centipede grass.I can now say that the weeds are completely gone and my lawn is a dark jade green color. Thus far, I am so pleased with the results!
