This paddle is an amazing paddle. The handles are very light weight but the actual paddle is extremly durable. We have 2 sit on top kayaks (fishing kayaks). The kayaks came with paddles but they were complete garbage.I bought a Carlisle Magic Angler paddle in a 260cm length but it wasn't available in a 250cm at the time so we held off on the second paddle hoping it would become available. The Carlisle is an amazing paddle and makes kayaking so much more fun. However we couldn't find a 250 cm for my daughter's kayak so whenever we went out I gave her my paddle and I used the one that came with the kayak. We came across this Pelican and decided to give it a try.GLAD WE DID. It is an amazing paddle, very light weight (lighter than my Carlisle) and is every bit as durable. On my Carlisle I wrapped the handle with bicycle handlebar tape which I strongly recommend because it just makes paddling so much more comfortable and for long distances you don't really need gloves or anything like that. I did the same for the Pelican and it does make a world of difference on a long trip.As for performance, it is a perfect paddle. Can't say enough about the weight because on a long trip you can really tell the difference. I used my Carlisle for a mile, then switched to the Pelican and the weight difference, although not much, is really very noticable. The performance is every bit as good even though the actual paddle size compared to my Carlisle is slightly smaller. The Pelican is an overall exceptional paddle and is very affordable and is an excellent upgrade. Although I love my Carlisle paddle, I kind of liked using the Pelican.I read several reviews about this paddle coming with a sticker that wont peel off, but we were lucky and there was no issue with that at all.

First, I needed a longer paddle for a somewhat wide inflatable kayak. That’s the main reason I went with a longer paddle. I have since bought a couple of adjustable paddles and I love the convenience of those. But, for what this, it’s exactly what it needs to be: a solid, strong and lengthy paddle that will do a fantastic job getting you where you and your boat need to go in the water, without fail. The blades are extremely strong; a good quality and very durable. They are lightweight, as is the shaft. The blades will have no problem cutting in and out of water swiftly, and pushing through it. I like the looks of it too, so that helps. :) It is not the most lightweight like a hybrid fiberglass, but if you’re stepping up from a traditional aluminum and nylon blade, this will feel plenty light and you’ll enjoy paddling more.

I find this paddle to be the perfect balance of quality and cost. I wish it came in other colors but whatever.

It's very lightweight and I love that there's a measure on it so I can measure fish. The dock grab works flawlessly to grab other kayakers or the dock. I've not had to use the hook remover yet but it's nice to have in case I need it.

This paddle is well built. No flex s the blades so you can the most power out each stroke. Plus it has a measuring stick on it as well. Great paddle.

Great bang for the buck. I was looking for an angling specific paddle and this one works great! I really like the line slot on the blade, it's a great way to follow your line into the weeds and find your lure. Pet peeve! The paddle is light and the blade seems large enough to move my big boat around. and it didn't break the bank. I have a nasty habit of leaving paddles on the beach after a long day of fishing so the $400 carbon paddles aren't for me. I've had this one for a little over a month now!

Only complaint is the shaft was dented when I opened the package. But it doesn’t affect my paddling and it’s done it’s job just fine.

When compared to the aluminum model there’s obviously more flex but only when you’re really pushing hard against the flow of water upstream, if it’s a casual kayak trip most wouldn’t notice any difference! I would buy them again!

This paddle works great with my catch mode 110. I love the longer size as it makes paddling easy from both the regular and elevated position

Really worth it, yes the stickers are a litle hard to peel off but i wont give it less than 5 stars because of that. Its lightweight and really looks nice!
