I bought this more to help with establishing the habit of weightlifting, I did have some previous knowledge of how to lift. As I began, I realized I didn’t remember as much as I thought- the QR codes that went directly to the exercise were invaluable to ensuring I was lifting correctly. Being able to track in a hard copy was great to show me my progress and increase if able.I finished this in about 13 weeks, at the end of which I can absolutely say I looked and felt better but also had established the habit of weightlifting. I wasn’t sure what to do AFTER the 13 weeks, but it only took about a week to find a YouTuber that I liked. I’m in my late 40s and I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years. I’m down 30 lbs, and it all started with this book and a desire to finish it. To say that this is a value for the money diminishes what it accomplished- establishing a habit that has likely added years of quality and health to my life.

I enjoy weight lifting, but tend to get lazy and stick to the same exercises because it takes time and research to plan workouts. This book is the solution! Exercises are mixed around so that all muscle groups are worked in different ways. The book operates on a pyramid theme which really encourages me to work harder and longer. I can record the weight and reps for each set, and I take notes if I need to increase or lower the weight. Links to workouts are really helpful. I saw results in just a couple of weeks. The book is beautifully bound and very sturdy.All the preliminary work is done for you. Really excellent resource.As with all Habit Nest books I have tried, there is some small, light grey text that is difficult for my old eyes to read. It's not critical text, but I do hope that the good folks at Habit Nest improve that aspect of the book.

Journal comes spiral bound and good quality. It includes many tips and tricks for strength training and also nutrition. Throughout the journal, it provides more tips and tricks. Each workout focuses on two muscle groups with multiple exercises. Also includes descriptions for the workouts in the back of the book, or you can scan the QR code and find the descriptions online as well. The booking includes modifications to make them easier or harder as needed. I also like that it refers you back to the previous workouts where you can find your previous best weight and reps for that exercise. Four days a week are strictly strength training, focusing on two muscle groups and then the fifth day is a hit style workout, focusing on the whole body. Workouts are challenging, but can be modified to make it easier previously.One con I have found with this book is sometimes the descriptions of the workouts can still be a little confusing. Also, if you were using the book and the QR code website together, sometimes the descriptions don’t match up exactly.If you are looking for a good dumbbell workout to do at home, this is a great resource with exercises and a journal to track your progress!

This book has been very helpful for me. It tells you exactly what to do each day.Each day has a QR code to scan so you can watch instructional videos on how to properly do each exercise.You will need access to at least 4 sets of different size dumbbells, a yoga mat/workout mat, and an incline bench. My apartment complex’s gym has all this, thankfully. You can’t do this book with just one set of dumbbells.It has 66 days of workouts. So if you do 2 workouts a week, you will finish the book in about 6 months or so. Great value!The one thing I don’t love are the HITT days. Ugh, they can be really challenging as an obese person. They don’t involve dumbbells, so it’s not directly related to the theme of the book. Still, I get value from it and solider through.Overall, I love filling out the journal and feeling accomplished.

I needed a method to keep my inspired and committed to fitness after a major surgery and starting over from scratch, and this journal has been awesome. The workouts push me (I am always sore after), and are varied enough that I never get bored. The mental aspect and the little motivators keep me striving to do and be better. I especially like that it directly makes me schedule my next workout, because then I put it into my calendar and actually make the space and time for it! Customer service is great and responsive. Definitely recommend!

What a great tool to kick start my fitness year. Easy to follow and if I need help there is a QR code to guide you through exercises. I love tracking my workouts and check exercises off my to-do list. I would highly recommend Habit Nest journals to help with accountability and reaching your fitness goals!

EDIT:Seller got in touch and made it right be resending a new book with a better made binding. After having used the book for a few weeks now, it's been great to have a guided workout with clear goals and progress tracking. Some of the workouts are a little unclear, but there are written explanations, and in most cases videos, showing how to do each exercise.Day 1 opened the book and the binding softly tears where the pages meet the cover, it's incredibly cheaply made. The workouts look solid and was really just looking for something to guide me through workouts and log it. I'd recommend something else, if you try and bring this to a gym or anywhere where it might be touched in any way it will break. At least the pages seem to stay together so not a total wash.

The book lays flat which very is helpful during a workout. The goal section for each exercise is written so lightly I can barely read it. I had to take a picture of the page, enlarge the photo and hand write the goals on the page. That is not ideal.

I purchased this at the start of 2025; I used the Gym Partner book years ago (just before COVID). I love that they are detailed, easy to follow, and allow the user room for adjusting for, well, life. But it makes sure to teach the user accountability - maybe that's why resolutions fail for many. It is a support guide, and is great for anyone no matter their level of experience - those returning to a healthier lifestyle, or those who want a change in routine.

Just got it today. Couple of notes - it does take a while to arrive. Mine was definitely over the estimate but it's the times.When I got it the only minus as you see in the pics - the book came right off the backing. It seems like it was missing glue to connect it to the spine so technically cover was held by thin paper.Amazon addressed it and gave credit. I did not want to return as it is still usable. Just a bit of a meh experience in terms of product looks/quality.Lots of info inside, which is cool, looking forward to trying it out.

Book arrived with binding already breaking/ripping. Otherwise the contents are as described. I’m just wondering how long it will actually hold up..
