Yes I still have a landline phone on my kitchen wall. The grandchildren finally figured it out and for 8 year old girls were fascinated with this famous invention of 100 years ago. This telephone still works when the power goes off during storms . Surprise !!So yes I consider this new phone not an update to the old one but a basic color change in the kitchen decor. And yes the grandkids did have to make that call to their mom to see if her frig was running. Too funny !! remember that??

This cord is perfect as I often must reach into a file cabinet or elsewhere to further reference what the call is about. It has stopped the stress of dragging the base phone off the desk. It arrived soon after I ordered and in secure packaging.
