Bought this a present for my husband. He uses them every time he grills or uses his smoker. He has no issues with connectivity to his cell phone. The temperature is accurate. These probes are high quality. Functionality: work as described and has made it easier to monitor meat temperatures. Money well spent.

This is a nifty addition to our barbecuing and general cooking toolkit. There's a single probe, but it independently measures both internal and external temperatures of the meat. You insert it fully, and then Bob's your proverbial uncle. It "Just Works" to communicate with the bright-orange (hard to lose!) base station--even with your barbecue lid closed--which in turn communicates to your phone (and thereby to the Apple Watch if you're luck enough to have one!).The TempSpike app is easy to use, maybe could be a little slicker in terms of design and discoverability, but its functionality is excellent. Temperature readings seem quite accurate, and our food has come out perfect each time. You can set temperature alarms, both low and high, for both the probe's sensors. There's a graphing function (which you must start when you want it) that lets you see trends. There are multiple "profiles" built-in that set target temperatures for you. There are warnings that if you foil-wrap your food for cooking, the probe's ceramic handle must poke out of the foil so the probe and base station can talk. That makes me curious how a layer of foil will compromise connectivity whereas the barbecue's lid will not, but whatever. The base station charges via USB-C, and rapidly. The probe resides in clips in a dedicated receptacle in the base station. The clips charge the probe. State-of-charge for both the base station and probe are displayed on the base station's LCD display as tiny icons.Having nice large temperatures displayed at a glance on the base station is really nice. The base station has a magnet to attach to any (not-hot!) surface. All in all, I'm really happy with this little device.

I've had good and bad experiences with tempurature probes. I'll admit I bought this will a little hesitation wondering if it would work out. I'm happy to say it has worked great and reliably over the last couple of month. The tempurature reading seem accurate. Knowing the internal and ambiant tempurature in my smoker was a real eye opening. The built in guage on the smoker is 20 to 40 degrees off, which explains problems I had before I bought this probe. With the probes, I've gotten so much better results. And having 2 probes is so much better than just one because together they provide a better understanding of what is going on in the smoker.

Absolutely love this product! The extra distance it provides is a game-changer, and being completely wireless eliminates the hassle of figuring out how to keep wires out of the way when smoking meat. One of the best features is that each spike reads both internal and ambient temperatures, meaning I only need one probe instead of two, unlike my older wired model. Plus, the battery life is great—no issues getting through long cooks without a recharge.Highly recommend this for any grillmaster or BBQ enthusiast—mine was a Christmas gift, and it was perfect!

This probe is a complete mess. How it has so many positive reviews is beyond me. First, the battery in the actual prob lasts about an hour. You’ll then have to pull the probe, set back in the cradle to charge for 20-30 mins then place back in the meat. Secondly, the probe and base have a Bluetooth range of about 2’ (if it’s in the oven or grill with lid closed. If you’re cooking in the oven, the base unit literally has to sit on the stove top or it will disconnect from the probe. Thirdly, my probe will randomly disconnect from the base, no matter how close it is or if it’s fully charged or not. When it does that, that app is useless and will no longer show the cooking temps. You’ll have to pull the probe, insert into the base for 5 mins or so and once the base reconnects to the probe you can recert the probe back into the meat. I was cooking a turkey and had to do this several times during the cook. Compete trash and I missed my return window ….

I bought this thermometer as a gift for my Son as for Christmas given that he is a Grill Master in the making. He has used them many times for a variety of meats and we have even used them in the oven and such. They work flawlessly and the mobile phone app is very easy to set up and use.

Works flawlessly! I had the older version and it worked well enough but the probes kept messing up. I got the Plus and they’re great. The probes are much smaller, and don’t need to be inserted quite as far. The design is more sleek and modern, and it truly works from hundreds of feet away! I liked it so much I purchased some as gifts for my buddies who also like to cook as much as I do. 10/10!
