Been playing 30+ years and love these strings. Played on Dominants for years; tried gut for richer tone, but had no volume and couldn't keep in tune; moved to Zyex, which are great - warm with volume, and stay in tune; and this is the next step if that aligns with your tone preference - richer, and more resonant: a superior sound to complement the work I've been putting in over the decades. Buying my third set. Seems like they last about three times as long as the Dominants do, so the price isn't really more once you consider mileage. (Wifey set up our shared Amazon account, so discard any perceived gender mis-match.)

I first tried out an A string from the Vision Solo line before plunging into buying an entire set. I'd been happy with the A - would I like the whole set? The first day was not so great. The A string sounded wonderful but the rest were a bit "raspy." By day two, they sounded much better.I play a 16.75 inch viola made in 1993 in the W.H.Lee shop in Chicago. My viola is very bright and projects very well. On the down side, it can be a bit one dimensional. Most newer strings sound very metallic. These (after breaking in) allow me to play with more warmth than Thomastik Dominants, which were previously the ones I preferred on my particular viola. My string length is right at the edge of the recommended string length, so the tension is a little high. I'd love it if they made a slightly longer string, but I can live with these for sure. Highly recommend.

I just bought these strings and one already broke even though we were careful to break them in. Not such a good deal after all.
