Just finished installing two separate heat pumps this weekend that take flare fittings on the line sets lines. These heat pumps used 3/4 and 3/8 lines sets. We used this tool set to create all the flares necessary to hook up both ends of the line sets and it worked good and created nice flare ends. If your making flare ends, it is important that you ream out the end of the pipe prior to creating the flare to ensure you don't have an inward ridge from the cutting tool. Otherwise your flare won't fit tightly when done. I am happy with the tool set.

My 45 year old Snap-On Blue Point flair kit finally wore out. I didn’t want to pay big bucks to replace it and I figured I would try this moderately priced flair kit a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find the kit also included swaging dies. The flair’s are spot on and the swaging dies work very well. Easy to use and the tool seems to be as durable as my old wore out big buck flairing kit.

This is more difficult to use than I was hoping. I can't specifically tell if was because of this kit or just my lack of skill, or a combination of both, but I advise practicing before trying to use it for real. It was most difficult to center the flair. It always seemed to want to slide to one side or the other. I had to use three different tips to get an acceptable flair on 1/4" tubing. As with all these tools from China, there are no instructions so look up some how-to's on YouTube if you've never used a flair tool before.I ended up getting three acceptable flairs that didn't leak, but that was after more than an hour of trial and error. I was also disappointed with how easily the tools marked-up after using them. Ultimately it got the job done a lot cheaper than having someone else do it, but like I said, practice before doing it "for real".
