I replaced the original wire throttle with this twisted wire cable. It is much more flexible than the old wire. I had a choice of ends so I cut the un-needed end off and fed it from the foot pedal to the engine end and learn this from me. The new cable is 15 ft long and I pushed it through to the end however....it curled up and touched the battery terminal at the starter and melted it into two. I could have started a fire! Next time, either have the ability to be at the end and feed it through the "dog house" tube by hand or disconnect the battery. There was more than enough left and I followed the instructions and now have a very workable throttle! Decent quality and it works smoothly!

This looks to be the same gauge as the stock cable. Also, the manufacturer's packaging does not mention heavy duty. However, it is a throttle cable, and it did fit my VW. It's extra long, so there's no worry about having a cable that's too short.

Make sure you also order some Teflon lined 5mm bicycle brake cable housing. If not, you’ll have cable binding issues.
