This has saved my hand multiple times when mig and flux core welding. It’s nice and thick. I’m probably going to purchase another to have just in case.

Warmth???? I don’t even Feel that he protects my knuckles wow MIG welding overhead and keeps my hand nice and cool as far as the thickness it is perfect this is the best bang for your buck I will be re-purchasing

Work great, keeps your hand cool. I got a corner of it a lil too close to my wire wheel. Other than that it is holding up fine.

When used for longer welds, especially in positions where hot metal falls against it or it's within 3-4"of the arc, the aluminized surface melts / burns. All these pads use aluminized kevlar or fiberglass assurface layer and probably kevlar thread. Aluminum, kevlar and fiberglass all melt below 900F.Blocks heat well, you can't feel anything on your hand even while it's burning, but the smell lets youknow, even long after the welding is done. Don't know why they don't use ceramic wool, which has amuch higher temperature rating.
