The first cuckoo clock was developed by watchmakers in Germany’s Black Forest region in the 18th century. The clock movement was driven by suspended weights, accuracy was ensured using a pendulum. The body of the clock was made of wood and represented a small house with a little bird living under the roof. The innovative and attractive design has made cuckoo clocks popular for over 250 years.
Modern cuckoo clocks improve on the traditional design by including a battery-powered quartz movement. The TIMEGEAR cuckoo clock allows you to adjust the sound or turn it off completely. All TIMEGEAR clocks have an automatic night mode so the cuckoo will not disturb your sleep. These options make the design more practical.
PRODUCT FEATURES
PERFECT TIMEKEEPING
The modern movement provides excellent clock accuracy. The dial has Roman numerals just like the famous Black Forest clocks. Large and contrast numbers are easy to read.
ADJUSTABLE SOUND
You can adjust the volume with the knob on the side panel. If you need silence or get tired of the cuckoo, you can mute the sound.
QUARTZ MOVEMENT
The quartz movement is powered by 3 C-size batteries and does not require winding (batteries are not included).
AUTOMATIC NIGHT MODE
The night mode is activated automatically at 10 PM. The bird stops coming out from 10 PM to 6 AM (from 22:00 to 6:00). The clock stays silent at night and will not disturb your sleep.
THE CUCKOO
The cuckoo appears at the beginning of every hour and tells the time. The bird comes out, flaps its wings and sings. The number of cuckoo calls indicates the hour has come. When the cuckoo sings, you can hear the gurgling of the stream and other birds in the background as if you were in the real forest.
MADE OF WOOD
The clock represents a small rural house with a cuckoo living under the roof. All the decorations, clock housing and pendulum are carved out of natural wood. The wooden figures reflect scenes from nature or country life. The clock face, hands, weights and cuckoo are plastic.
The wooden pendulum is swinging permanently. Weights and chains are decorative.

This cuckoo clock is delicate, nice on the eyes, not laud we can regulated also. This is not big or heavy weight. Most important we don’t need pay thousand to watch a cuckoo clock and hear the bird sing .I am proud of myself to make a simple decision to buy a child memory back.

Love the appearance of this cuckoo clock. Even though it's molded plastic, it's finish gives the appearance of wood. The cuckoo sound is pleasant and the little bird popping out of the house to announce the hour is entertaining. The feature of not cuckcooing after 9:00 PM is a nice touch. The clock keeps excellent time - has cuckooed on time (as checked on my laptop) for the past month or so. It runs on 2 C-cell batteries, so it will eventually start loosing time as the batteries start to run down. Overall, I am totally satisfied with this clock.

I love my cuckoo clock all it took was three C batteries and it's going cuckoo just what I wanted something simple but something that looks real great job do you have another one maybe I could buy another one from you a little different at 76 I'm starting to collect clocks battery operated clocks they are dependable let me know

This is an electronic devise and not a mechanical device. I was interested in a weight driven workings and they ended up being much more expensive.

Reminds me of Grandma's house. The cuckoo is a bit wild. It makes some noise, but there is a volume switch. Follow the instructions to set it. The plastic bird comes out. It is keeping perfect time. It takes C batteries. It looks good. We love it. Makes us smile. Kids love it.

Item was smaller than expected. Returned and bought a larger clock, more similar to the clock it is replacing. Also syncing the number of bird chirps to the correct time was tricky, and didnt work smoothly.
