The old seal was leaking, this is a good replacement. It does not leak, I did add a thin coat of Black RTV to make up for any small imperfections since the vehicle is older.

Purchased to replace the weeping pinion seal on my '95 GMC Sierra 4x4. Terrific replacement. Once I got the pinion nut off (which required an air-powered impact wrench) swapping the old seal for the new one was a breeze, and cured the leak. Tips: apply a thin coat of sealant around the body of the seal, to seal it tightly to the differential housing; and apply a generous amount of oil or grease to the seal itself (once in place) to prevent it from being dry when you start driving, after completing the repair.

Fit my 1987 Chevrolet v10 (k10) 8.5†10bolt rear pinion. I carefully got it started by hand and used a small piece of 2x4 and a hammer to tap it on.Grease the spring or be careful so you don’t knock the spring on installing.
