After the reviews I decided to have this professionally installed ($75) and it still was half what Lowes was selling it for after taxes.This baby is QUIET, where others scream this one whispers. It does the job like cutting through warm butter.I'll never shop for appliances at Lowes or Home Depot after all my great amazon.com experiences. And they cover the shipping (a savings of another $50). What a great deal. And has a 10 yr warranty too

The Titan T-1060 1¼ HP Premium Food Waste Disposer is a five star product. It is quite and very powerful. I don't know why some anyone would claim it is loud as is not. It was very easy to install and comes with a great set of instructions. I love the magnet that keeps your silverware out of the disposal. I had a speed connect already in place but went ahead changed everything because the quality was much higher than what was in place. I also like to install all new products when I get them just to be safe. I have no derogatory comments to say about the Titan T-1060 1¼ HP Premium Food Waste Disposer. I am exceptionally pleased.Update: I bought this June 16, 2011. It is now January 2, 2018. It broke. A blade broke off. I found a nut to something in the blades. The motor is still good but one blade is gone so it is time for a new one. I got 7 years of use out of it. Is that good? I think so. I would buy again but I am wondering id there is a warranty that exceeds this time frame.

At 1.25 hp, it's a lot of oomph for the buck, and by buck I mean you could skin and process the meat of one through it. A little troubling to install, given it's a one-off try; that is, I believe that if I had a second one to install it would be easier having already been through it once. Surprisingly quiet for all the power and heft. I highly recommend, especially for the price.

I have had a Titon disposal about one year.....love it.... it was suggested to me to have a heavy duty rubber disposal ring and push it down deep! Just bought my daughter one with the same directions so the foods will not spray out.....since the Titon is very strong!

This is a very nice garbage disposal for the money. I read some reviews saying the support ring was plastic... That wasn't the case for mine. It has a metal support flange and seems to be fully metal throughout, except where metal wouldn't make sense.So, why not 5 stars? Well, it's pretty tall for one. It replaced my older disposal and took up more space than I was prepared for. It is pretty loud when it turns on, even though it runs kinda quiet. My biggest complaint is the rubber sink baffle/flange causes the water to drain really slow. So much so, I first thought that the disposal wasn't working. I took it out and there was no problem with the draining. But having the drain wide open like that just seems like I'd be inviting trouble. I'll probably buy a new/different one and should then be in pretty good shape.

Product appeared as a returned item. Mounting bolt was cross thread. It required new mounting collar, delayed installation and lost time. Time is money at this cost me both.
