About this item

  • Dimensions: 24L x 20W x 18H
  • Two Floats keep trap floating above water
  • Repeating Turtle Trap
  • Ramps tilt in for easy capture

Model 409 is a floating turtle trap designed to catch many turtles at a time. When turtles climb up on the ramps to sun themselves the gravity trap panels tip into the trap compartment and they fall into the trap. Made with aluminum ramps, 1" x 1" – 14 gauge coated mesh frame, and strategic ¼" steel reinforcing rods make this the strongest and most durable floating turtle trap available. The wire mesh is coated with the same material used on lobster pots in salt water.

Sank to the bottom of the pond within a few months. Floats broke away from the cage and now it’s gone. Waste of money. You have been warned

Worked great, only problem is one of the floats will not hold air. Looking for a replacement float.

It took less than 5 minutes to put together and less than 5 minutes to set the water depth. IT IS A TURTLE CATCHING MACHINE!!! I would say I would buy another one but there's no need. I've moved it 3 times around the pond and it just keeps catching them.

I was a tad skeptical that this would work, even though the principal was sound, but I am a fan now. Caught 5 red ears in one day. My pond is full of red ears and some common snappers and I am hoping to clear the turtles out as they have been getting my wife's ducks. Also using the Tomahawk submersible turtle trap. Very, very happy with the results.

haven't caught a single turtle. I've even placed it directly next to logs where turtles sun bathe. I've baited it, I've done everything suggested. Now the floats have holes in them and it sinks.

Easy to setup and well made. As for catching turtles, use a good bait like chicken legs or fish in mesh bag.

Getting the cage to float at the right depth was a pain. Some better instructions would have been helpful. So far turtles haven’t been using it either.
