Tongue and groove joints are a preferred method of joining for various projects, and these are just the trick. If you are repairing floors, these may or may not be compatible with your existing floors, not just because of the size of the tongues themselves, but because you'll need to take into account how much of the old floor has been sanded away when calculating the depth and it gets complicated... but this is turning into more of a tutorial than a review. Point being, these will cut a nice tongue and groove for you, just make sure you get your measurements and set the depth right on your router.

DURABLE STEEL BODY: Boasting alloy blades, balanced craftsmanship, and a solid hardened steel board these woodworking tools can withstand heavy-duty use and the test of time. Their clever anti-kickback design ensures safe installation. DO NOT cut ferrous metal and nonwood materials, such as steel, iron, sand, etc.EASY TO STORE AND CARRY: The included wooden case is sturdy and makes storing the high-quality router bits convenient while in between jobs or DIY home improvement projects. The case also helps protect the bits while traveling to work on the go or remote site locations

These tongue and groove router bits come very well packaged. They actually come in a full color labeled box which is very rare today. And inside they are each protected inside hard plastic boxes you can reuse. These are heavy duty router bits that fit my Grizzly shaper nicely for making tongue and groove.I cannot believe how they can sell these so cheaply.

Pros:1) There's advantages to using 1/2" shanks. You can see from the images that the cut comes out quite nice. No burns or other effects like that. Additionally, I run the router at bit slower speed which reduces noise.2) The groove bit cut a bit better than the tongue bit.Cons:1) After my cuts, I found that the assembled set had too much game. Not so much that it makes it unusable but something you have to consider when working with these.2) I'm not a fan a fan of the storage boxes. They are flimsy.3) Out of the box the groove was too wide for the tongue. Be wary of this when setting up.

For the price this is the best tongue and groove set out there. The carbides are large and very sharp.Used on a few projects and still sharp as the first day I received them.Well worth the money.I purchased both the 1/4 and 1/2 sets.

I have always wanted a tongue and groove bit set for a few projects but I didn't want to break the bank for something I might only use once or twice. The 'Bitcut' 2 piece 1/2 inch bit set is a homeowner/DIYer quality set that should fit my personal needs. The bits arrive with a light film of oil on them and are packaged in individual plastic containers to protect them during shipping and storage. The quality of the 2 bits seems very good for the pricing and the cutting blades feel quite sharp. They also include additional washers in the set to adjust the groove thickness if needed.Overall, I believe the quality and pricing of this 'Bitcut' bit set is a good value and it is very suitable for my skill level and budget. I really don't need nor could I afford professional grade bits for the occasional DIY project that I undertake.

The carbide cutters fit correctly, are brazed well, and seem pretty balanced so far.The depth of cut is 0.5 inches.Comes with one spare pair of bearing washers.Does not come with the promised (from the listing):EASY TO STORE AND CARRY: The included "wooden case is sturdy and makes storing the high-quality router bits convenient while in between jobs or DIY home improvement projects. The case also helps protect the bits while traveling to work on the go or remote site locations"Unless cardboard boxes constitute wooden boxes now. Cardboard is made from wood after all.

These BITCUT tongue and groove router bits represent a very good value for a basic set of router bits to make tongue and groove joints. In my case I have the 1/2" shank set, I always prefer to get the larger diameter shank when using a large diameter cutter. Being a larger cutter these are best used in a full sized router, and also best to dial back the speed to 7-8k RPM...not all bits are meant to run at full speed. I tested these mounted in a router table, I'm sure the slotting bit could be used freehand, but I think the combination bit that routs the tongue would be hard to control freehand. In testing, these bits cut well in oak and maple and left just a bit of burning on cherry which was probably more due to me moving the material too slowly than the fault of the bits. I did not detect any noticeable vibration and the cutters were clearly sharp leaving a smooth edge with no tear-out. I have other name brand tongue and groove sets that came with a set of thin brass washers to precisely adjust the width of the cut to match the slotting bit, this set includes just a single washer but I found them to be accurate enough without any adjustment. For the price of this bit set it would be extremely hard to beat regardless of the brand.

I don’t know why there is so many positive reviews on here. I bought this to do kitchen shaker cupboards and was sick of using other tools and was hoping this would be my end all but instead it turned out horrible. The bits aren’t sharp enough and just bludgeon the boards creating excess chipping and on top of that the groove is about 1/8 bigger than the tongue making it so loose that you’d have to fill the joint full of glue and then wood fill the rest for appearances. Caution on buying this for anything aesthetic.
