This is the lowest cost product from this manufacturer. The resolution is not as good as professional models but I was able to take measurements in my electric panel and check for poorly insulated areas. At a nuclear power plant I have used $100,000 thermography equipment and this is of course no match but can be useful for a homeowner doing non critical work.

Nice addition to the HVAC tool box. I don't need a thermal cam everyday so this model was a great value for the price. It would be nice if it came with a storage case.I ended up getting an Apache case from harbor freight and cutting the molded section of the product package to fit.

works as expected, showing the heat differences so that I know where to add insulation in walls and ceiling.Knew I had cold areas but this allowed me to see exactly where. OK image quality, works for the price, and will save me money in the long run.I have rentals and this saved me money on the 1st use, as I got credit for lack of insulation.

If you want a price-appropriate unit to be able to do energy audits and something that you can lend to other people without sweating over the price tag then this is it. I’ve used this in the basement and attic and probably already saved the price of the purchase in stopping cold leaks and reducing my heating bill.

I like the instrument, but have two complaints. 1, the font size for temperature readout is so small that I need a magnifier to read it. 2. this instrument comes with NO, NADA, ZIP.Zero documentation. Instead it has a piece of paper with a web address. So for old grey beards like me...I guess I should "stay in my lane" and not buy these "new-fangled" gadgets. However, for the cost of a few pennies to develop and print a set of quick start instructions, I would ask how much are you really saving by sending the instrument without any documentation.

Works well enough to discover cold spots in the walls or to do some work on the car but the temperature reading is very inaccurate. For about a hundred bucks more you can get something with a much higher thermal resolution that doesn't have this problem. For under 200 though this might be the best option.Update: idk, I literally didn’t change anything but the second time I turned it on things started reading normally. Hopefully it’s fixed now?Their customer service is also very friendly.

Works well at identifying hot/cold areas. Responds to changes in temp quite quickly - there's a noticeable delay but it's maybe about a quarter second so not a problem for me.I was worried that the heat sensing display wouldn't be very have the resolution but while it wasn't high res it was good enough to make out electrical cables from around 60cm and radiator pipes from 1m. It didn't seem blotchy in any of the modes and was good enough for me.I was hoping it might help me find the source of some drafts in the room, it did show up some cold spots around the floor but I'm not totally convinced they're the source. I didn't expect it to be able to show up drafts so I'm not knocking points off for that but just be aware. Battery life seems good, I've not needed to use it for long periods though. I used it continuously for maybe 2 hours on and off and the battery still showed full. It's handy having a digital readout of the current centre spot temperature but as this model doesn't have a pointer it's not too easy to be sure what it's pointing at. The temperature is shown in white in the top corner and can often get difficult to read when the background is a light colour. You can switch colour modes with a button which sometimes helps.I'm not sure how accurate it is but I think it's at least good enough for relative comparisons.Overall for my purposes it's quite expensive but for the right purpose I think it does the job well.

Works as described but you can't export/download the pictures taken, which is really sillyEdit Feb 17 2025 ~ I was contacted promptly by the seller who tried to help solve the issue for a week. It should use a MTP pilote and work automatically but it does not (neither if plugged in my Samsung Phone nor under IOpenMTP on OSX). It disconnects once I try to read the files. In the end, the offered me a discount.Because of the seller acting on its on volition to help, I do give a 4 stars. As for the pictures, I settled to take phone picture of the camera screen when I need to keep one. Better than nothing but not ideal.

The TOPDON TC004 is a very impressive Mini Thermal Imaging Camera. For its compact design, its performance is excellent! With a high 240x240 IR resolution and a 25Hz refresh rate, it delivers clear thermal images. Its wide temperature range (-20°C to 450°C) makes it versatile for a number of tasks, including home maintenance, leak detection, and more importantly HVAC inspections. The 15-hour battery life ensures extended use without having to recharge frequently, thus ensuring its reliability and making it reliable for professional or personal use.Its handheld design has been well thought out, it is ergonomic and portable, Overall, it's a solid choice for those needing a high-quality, easy-to-use thermal camera.I must add that our grandkids loved it when we first got it, playing hide and seek while using this to find each other ðŸ˜
